My personal choice (not counting Yamato) would be Katakuri. He is strong but not as strong as Marco and, if Zoro and Sanji defeated King and Queen, he would be the fourth strongest member of the crew. Also, with his special paramecia fruit he could be the "logia” of the crew.

And this is just a wish but it would be epic if, in the Final War, Yamato, Katakuri and Marco were the 11th, 12th and 13th nakamas. So Luffy would have in his crew members connected to the original Yonko: Ussop the son of a YC of the Red Hair Pirates, Yamato the daughter of Kaido, Katakuri the son of Big Mom and Marco the "son" of Whitebeard. But I know it would be too OP.

And Facing 2 YCs mid air for seconds isn't a huge feat when Appo can face 2 SNs for 10+ minutes.

Anyway,
Marco can't join coz he lost ambitions and he sees his life like accomplished, a failure who has nothing else to prove.

Katakuri can't join because he will lead BMP as ally to Strawhats vs WG

Only Yamato might join

honestly, when it comes to Nakama, I believe Oda will only allow established characters who got enough screentime to join... so if there is a strong one... it would probably be someone we saw fight before in Marineford or even before....

The same way how Jinbe joining now does not feel like he needs screentime to shine... cause In Impel Down and Marineford he done so much, and in Fishman island, and then later in WCI... by the time he joined... NO ONE will complain that he needs screentime to shine

I feel we are approaching the end of the series... having a completely new character join would make the character have LESS relevance to any other SHs...

So, if we will have new nakama... he will be just like Jinbe in that he got introduced already pre-timeskip... Oda can then choose from the candidates how powerful that candidate is

People have theorized for years that Smoker and/or Tashigi might join, but I think they work better as Marine “allies” than actual pirates.

Maybe another Supernova that we haven’t seen a lot of, like Bonney or Urouge? Again, not sure how that would work, but it would make the most sense out of all of these nonsensical options.

For many saying Katakuri, you think he would suddenly give up his loyalty and leave his mama just to join the enemy?

He is a cool characters but I feel it would be too out of character for him to just leave the Big Mom Pirates at all. He would probably stay as a Koby-like ally at most. Or a rival like Smoker.

Right now it seems impossible, but everything depends on what happens with Big Mom. What if Linlin has a change of heart and becomes like O-Lin again? What if Big Mom falls and her family splits up? From what we've seen, some members of the BM Pirates have their own interests, like Perospero.

The issue of loyalty is subjective. Franky had his family and Jinbe had his crew, and none of that stopped them from joining.

It is all hypothetical but no one expected the union of Robin (second in command of Baroque Works) or Jinbe (a shichibukai) at first either. Katakuri has dedicated his whole life to protect his family, but for this reason he may have a dream that he has not been able to fulfill.
