Zoro 100% has strong intent to fight against Kaido.

Whether that's realized or not is up in the air is up to the plot and how other characters will move. Remember that Zoro was also gunning for Doflamingo hard before Fuji and Pica said nope.

So IMO, Zoro's intent alone is not a strong indicator that he will fight against Kaido. Yasuo, Ebisu village, and Enma hype make the set-up for it justifiable, and the fact that the alliance has a lot of strong fighters reduces the chance an underling will block him this time.

But still, I have doubts just because this hasn't happened before and Zoro doesn't hold exclusive rights to Kaido. And even if it does happen, a minor contribution in the form of a clash, wound, or killing strike doesn't strike me as satisfying. I think people should keep expectations in check just to prevent getting disappointed. It would be nice to get a real Luffy+Zoro vs. Kaido fight, though.

Difference is with pica he stepped in and let luffy go on. This time he ignored queen and told luffy he was going too.
