I should have used this after the duel but:

Inside the WIndowless Building

A man, hanging upside down in a tube-like machine, was talking into a computer screen. On the other side was a woman with hair that could only be described as "overflowing".

"Well Aleis-tan, I think we'll have to call this one a draw. Both my team and your motley crew pulled through! I think this calls for a celebration. Oh, but don't worry. I'll drink enough for you as well, and-"

Not wanting to hear the rest, the man in the testing tube shut off the connection. She was right though. Both SCHOOL and Necessarius had driven back GREMLIN, and even the Magic God Othinus was defeated. Still, there was one thing that remained on Board Chairman Aleister's mind.

If Othinus was attempting to ascend to Godhood, then it meant that, despite styling herself as a Magic God, she hadn't become a true Magic God. Othinus, of course, must have known this herself. She had merely stepped once behind the curtain, offered a mere peek into a entirely seperate territory no ordinary magician would cross into.

Let's say that there were actual Magic Gods out there. What, then, would they think about the events that had transpired. What if, instead of Othinus, who tried to reach their territory, they stepped down into the realm of humans?

What would they think about his [Temple]?

While this story had surely wrapped up, another one was just beginning. An ominous wind blew through Academy City, heralding the advent of the True GREMLIN.

To be continued...

Yoho, Othinus, a Lost Mafia Lich Evolving Magic God, was lynched

With no further threats in the game, the game has now ended.

2 members of SCHOOL (MangoSenpai & Pot Goblin) have survived the game, and as a result, Town (Science) are all victorious (all other living and dead members of Town (Science) also win).

3 members of Necessarius (York, AlwaysMind & Polar Bear) have survived the game, and as a result, Town (Magic) are all victorious (all other living and dead members of Town (Magic) also win).

Town (Science) and Town (Magic) have both achieved their win conditions, meaning the Town Protagonist (Naomi) has also won the game.

Fiamma of the Right (Random Asshole) failed to eliminate his targets (Vento of the Front, Kamijou Touma, Othinus) and has lost the game.
Vento of the Front (Dr. Watson) failed to outlive every member of Town (Science), and has lost the game.

The GREMLIN Mafia have failed to achieve the conditions for the ascension of Othinus, and have lost the game.

Thank you all for playing.

I actually really am proud of the setup, and I kinda wish I'd held it until some players got a bit more used to Mafia and specifically my games, because I think some were overloaded with the amount of info to parse. A lack of familiarity with the theme probably didn't help either, but I don't regret that.

Basically, the core idea of the series is that Science and Magic essentially exist independently of each other, so I wanted to reflect that with the seperate towns. The Science side needed SCHOOL to live through the game, and the Magic side needed Necessarius. Touma, of course, needs to save everyone, as he's the protagonist, so for him to win, both Science and Magic towns need to win as well.

Mafia needed to be able to adapt throughout the game. Hence why they had no role that was strictly tied to them. If they were getting thinned out, Othinus was a behemoth who could only be stopped by an Index redirect or a Kanzaki kill.

For the Indies, Vento hates Science, so her thing was, if she were targeted by Science-side characters, she'd be able to retaliate. Her main magic is to punish those who show hostility towards her, hence how her whole mechanic works. It's a shame Divine Punishment never came into effect, but it was quite conditional. Fiamma, on the other hand, his power is to scale up one better than whatever he's facing. For him to beat Othinus, he needs to fail a kill on Index, which for flavour, would give him the forbidden knowledge she holds which gives him the capability of killing Othinus. Otherwise, he needs to get rid of Vento, and Touma. Mostly to balance the books, as Vento was already very Anti-Town. Fiamma killing Touma once satisfied that part of his wincon, so Touma coming back was the least harmful role towards the town that could still hurt them.

The End and the Beginning

I haven't really thought about MVP. Would probably say @Fujishiro - I think he was the only townie driving anything early, and the Flower lynch really set the ball in motion for a town win. I think if a townie got mislynched there, this game could have gone very differently.

@MangoSenpai Picked up slack later in the game, and deserves props for accurately picking out the targets in the PoE. But I thought he made some calculation errors early in the game. Claiming to be a Level 5 was one of them. That put a serious target on his back, and I'm surprised that scum didn't kill him with Flower's role (which bypassed Iron). Flower had correctly identified that he was Dark Matter. Also, the forensic cop had more utility early game, because there were less nights in which a player could have targeted someone who was then dead. So a positive result would be more incriminating early than late. Think the vig was probably the weakest role he could make from that perspective. But, Mango deserves props for stepping up as a town leader, and I think quietly Mango has become a much improved player over recent months.

@York deserves props for using her role well. Catching two scum was undoubtedly a big part as to why the town won. I felt however, that she was rather too apathetic towards the day phases. She's clearly capable of making some good reads, and can use reason and deduction well,,which makes her a pretty good Mafia player in my book. I'd like to see her be a bit more engaged in the days themselves, which is where the bread and butter of town is. I don't mean post more, but to demonstrate her ability more. In fairness, there was reason to coast here due to her role, but after catching Charlie, I was hoping she would really take over the game and control the thread too.

And that day phase where we got a duel and a lynch.
