With the latest chapter cover revealing Moria died saving his homeland of Wano-Kuni, or at least supposedly did. Does this mean Moria himself is a Zombie, who put his own shadow in his corpse with assistance of the world-famous Dr. Hogback?

Additionally, Moria's battle against Kaido, and his appearance in Thriller Bark is recontextualized now. I really empathize with Moria to be honest. I think most of his crew is just his former crewmembers who died, so its not like he mostly stole peoples bodies, though he did do a bunch of that. Gecko Moria Kozuki is related to Oden, and did more than Oden who just twerked for Kaido. Faced off against Yonko Blackbeard, faced off against Jinbei, faced off against Yonko Luffy.
Moria was so nice, he reanimated Cindry for Dr. Hogback to goon to. Dr. Hogback and Moria are an amazing team, and a far better duo than Zoro and Luffy in my opinion.

1. The Master of Surgery: His primary role is to create the zombie army for Moria. Using a devil fruit power (Kage Kage no Mi) and his own surgical genius, he stitches together corpses and implants shadows into them to create zombies. He takes great pride in his "art," often using body parts from famous or powerful individuals.
2. Motivation - Cindry: Hogback's entire descent into villainy was driven by an obsession with a famous actress named Cindry. After she died in a tragic accident, he was consumed by grief. He made a deal with Gecko Moria: in exchange for re-animating Cindry's corpse as a zombie, Hogback would use his medical skills to serve Moria and help him become the Pirate King.

• He gave Hogback his beloved Cindry back.
• He gave Absalom the freedom to be the perverted "graveyard journalist" he wanted to be. (Absalom X Nami is best ship in OP, RIP)
• He gave Perona a home and a castle full of cute, negative spirits.

Is Moria a bigger hero than Luffy at this point?

That's when the shithats were actually good but also the shithats were going up against Warlords and World Gov affiliates.

Post skip not only did the strawhats become dogshit but we had two giant turds in Big Mom and Kaidou as villains instead of characters like Crocodile, Enel, Lucci, Kizaru, Akainu etc.

Egghead was much more enjoyable than Wano. Every scene Kizaru was in was cool, most people loved those chapters. It's when he got sidelined where it became pretty trash (with the Vegadumb countdown). Even Vegadumb couldn't make the arc worse than Wano, the issue with Wano is not only did it have characters like the scabbards but even the panel time Kaidou took up was uninteresting, that leaves the readers with nothing to hold on to.

And yes Hody Jones is another example of a weak villain. Nothing wrong with Fisher Tiger.

Egghead was good but Kizaru was meh imo. Oda didn't do justice to Luffy vs Kizaru. Kizaru also comes off as incoherent character sometimes wanting to help bonney indirectly and sometimes directly going for the kill. Gorosei reveal was 10/10 though.

Hody was an S-Tier villian

the only reason why people shit on him is because he’s weak

The guy had real WSS in his crew also real surgeon lf death unlike Law, Absallom was şike hades or smt nor sure etc... Though never thought much Moria but he wasn't a weakling.

He will always be relevant whether you or other disingenuous whiners like it or not.

I have stupid takes and ignorance fatigue from posts like yours.

Oda treasures these characters and that's why he wrote him to be so sympathetic and nuanced. Like it or not.

He dropped plenty of hints that Thriller Bark, moria, perona, the zombies etc will be far more important in future. Oda has been doing tons of callbacks to pre TS/early OP stuff now.
