Mihawk is not talked about in Wano, the land of swordsmen and he never challenged Vista

Nothing suggests Whitebeard himself was known in every single part of the world. And I want to be as broad as possible with every single.

And the point that one title does not feature in the databooks and the other does still stands. This may implicate that one is a real deal and the other not really and so a differentiation. Or else WSS would have more probably also not featured.

We know the reason for why not much people wanted to become WSS because it's impossible for them to beat mihawk except green haired santoryuu swordman

I dont think anyone like that will appear, if anything, someone who will inherit Zoro's aspirations for the strongest swordsman.
Best candidate could be Momonosuke who is already kind of a pupil of Zoro.

Not sure if there is anything interesting in Wano for Mihawk.
Not sure if it will ever be revealed but if so then in Mihawk's arc.

Momonosuke vs Coby in a far future may look interesting if ever occurring. If Momo becomes a world traveler like Oden the odds could spike.

A rival for Zoro will be (and is) Killer in some way. Not about WSS (Killer isnt a swordsman and doesnt care about that stuff at all), but as main fighter of their captain. Both want to get their captain into the Pirate King position and both are their main fighting force. Their right hand mans.

People sleep on him because of Robin while she could do the same thing to to M3 power level characters.
And a determined rebecca barely avoiding a hit while she was the last person attacked by hakuba and trained for dodging all her life..
Even sabo hyped him and Barto couldn't even see him.
He is a strong dude and probably the fastest person introduced without a devil fruit.
Hakuba vs ashura could be dope if Oda wants it.

Technically speaking any competitor for the WSS title stands as a potential Zoro rival and to be more precise a rival as long as potentially a threat. But we know how it shall most likely end nevertheless.
