Kaido has ancient giant blood which gives him base dura. We see harald dropping from red line without much trouble thanks to it.

Also his final attack is also coated with ACOC so it's 50-50.

Thats not the point tho, the implication of his rhetorical question is just haki is special in a way that can bypass something like dragon scales

While instead, there is probally myriads of ways for people with unique abilities and a certain power level and Haki is just a fallback system the author created for those characters that do not have it. Like in every other shounen

I sometimes wonder if people on this forum only ever consumed one piece :AlexChills: 0 Brain activity
