Chapter 1053 was the most outrageously awesome chapter of the post timeskip. Ryokugyu was a straight legend in that chapter. In less than 5 panels he solidified himself as a true dawg.
A superior Mangaka would’ve had him either chase the Straw Hats from Wano, or would’ve had him chase the Red Hair Pirates from Wano. Unfortunately we’re stuck with Oda for the rest of One Piss.
Fujitora has some of the best moments in OP, but that doesn’t increase his cool factor necessarily. I prefer Cavendish as a character to Jack but Jack is still cooler than Cavendish. Fujitora is Oda’s magnum opus but Ryokugyu is just objectively much cooler.
I mean Ryokugyu made a fucking plant Devil fruit scary. I was so disappointed when I found out he had a plant fruit, I was convinced he was going to be my least favorite Admiral.
Then he negged King and Queen while chugging alcohol and smoking. Lol

We can get into depth, but that's not what I meant. It takes maturity to look past how cartoonishly evil he is, and how goofy he looks at times. He's a super badass character with tons of personality. It's far easier to make badass characters that are one note stoics.

Just compare how he rocks the Admiral gear to the rest of em, unbuttoned, 8 pack showing, chest out, massive tats running down his torso. He completely personalized the Admiral look, to make it his own. Like imagine, a thug running such a prestigious post, that's a paradox.

As a concept. I think Aramaki’s devil fruit is the best for battling multiple opponents
A walking forest that endlessly mows down its enemies. What’s unique about this fruit is the ability to absorb nutrients, so potentially against multiple opponents Greenbull has unlimited stamina/ endurance as he simply regenerates himself. I legit think Greenbull would’ve given the alliance hell solely due to that attribute.

To each their own but to me Ryokugyu is cooler than Aokiji and Kizaru combined. He is the pinnacle of badassery, the most badass character Oda has drawn in 30 years.
His ultra fucking rugged energy, his not giving a single fuck attitude, he negs commanders while smoking and chugging booze, he’s wild and unkempt, utterly jacked, has a badass and intriguing tattoo, (I’m still praying that is a black blade and Toei just fucked up), he has a plant fruit which is traditionally associated with like wimpy or healer characters but instead Oda gave it to this ultra masculine mad lad.
That scene of him walking into the Flower Capital to face down the alliance that killed two Yonko single handedly…Oda should be tried for war crimes for how severely he didn’t deliver with Ryokugyu in Wano.
I don’t know about that man. Aramaki in Ronin Gai had women tripping over him. He was fucking the richest prostitute and the wife of the local shogunate (or lord or whatever) at the same time. Both of these hoes knew he wasn’t loyal to either one of them, but they kept having sex with him anyway.
In the end he only saves the prostitute from execution because someone pays him to do so. He was a huge player who had the bitches dripping.
And One Piece Aramaki is like Ronin Gai Aramaki, except he’s fucking jacked. Lol

Personally I'm just waiting for him to use some proper plant-related moves, such as solar attacks and absorbing moisture, sunlight etc. for stat boosts

Cool scene and all but it doesnt beat Issho's badassery, none of the Admirals display the '' IDGAF attitude'' like he does. My man wouldve already fucking nuked Saturn instead of being conflicted lol. Fuji is an admiral of change, like a tornado.

The Admirals being based off of traditional Japanese manly men and/or Yakuza thugs was a genius choice in terms of capturing that truly hard energy.

Uh well if his character depth isn't what was supposed to be illusive then I guess that's that.
About the rest, I really don't have anything against goofy characters and alternatives to the "stoic badass". The admiral I find myself enjoying the most on panel is Kizaru and that's specifically because he has such a unique demeanour and tone as an antagonist. In any case, cool factor is up to taste I guess and Ryokugyu really doesn't do it for me...

No, Issho has some of the toughest scenes, overall he's the most admirable character, but he's not the coolest. Aokiji's got that on lock. He has that calm collected demeanor, rarely wears his emotions on his sleeve.
Forget Admirals, not a single character in One Piece is competing with Kizaru's IDGAF energy. Which is why the Sanji moment was just so out of left field.
