Well the majority of fans think the Yonko are a step above so idk what majority @Bogard is talking about. If you look at the Yonko vs Admiral poll in the battledome, the people who correctly read the manga and believe Yonko> Admirals significantly outnumber those who believe they are equal

While majority belief is not an argument in itself, we should look at the arguments from the other side to be sure if we have anything to worry about :zorothink:. What do they generally consist of? the same tired memes spammed in every thread :cheers:
So there is no real good faith debate. So I just put out my arguments not to convince the Admiral fan (Can't convince someone in a cult), but to provide comfort for the Yonko fan that they are indeed correct in their assessment.
I mean just the other day there was a victory lap for some random magazine entry. When I posted that in a databook supervised by Oda, it said Marco=Admirals suddenly it was non-canon

I believe that: the weakest of the original Yonkou (Oldbeard, Kaido, Big Mom and Shank) is weaker than the strongest of the original admirals (Sakazuki, Kuzan and Borsalino).

Nah, we just got trashed soundly in debates. I used to be a strong Yonkou stan as I explained earlier, but the Yonkou ~ Admiral side raised much better arguments and were thus more persuasive than the Yonkou > Admirals side. As a result, I eventually updated towards the belief that Yonkou > Admirals.
The short story is that these debates have already been had to the death back on OroJackson. There is a reason why the consensus among arena veterans is Yonkou ~ Admirals, and it's not because the Yonkou are uninspiring as characters (though they are). The war ended ages ago, and the Yonkou ~ Admirals side won. All that's left on the Yonkou side are arena rookies and a few stalwarts.
Just take a moment to understand how rare this is. True consensus among topics of contention is very rare (e.g. there's no consensus on how strong Doflamingo is). Reasonable people by and large disagree on whether Doflamingo is YC 3.5, YC 3, YC 2.5, YC 2 or YC 1.5. Reasonable people do not disagree that the original Yonkou and the original Admirals are on the same level.
The reason I don't participate in these debates is because as far as I'm concerned, the issue has been settled. Perhaps in future new evidence might arise to make me reevaluate my conclusion, but there hasn't been any cause to so far.
The Admiral stans are the few valiant warriors who tirelessly work to correct the misconceptions of the filthy casuals who don't know their way around a debate. The memes make the process fun for both sides, and the extreme positions they defend (Admiral >/>> Yonkou) are only to shift the Overton Window.
All of the above is a just a very long winded way of saying: there's no reasonable debate left to be had on this topic.

I don't think Yonko fans feel the need to debate because they have the manga and Oda. It's the Admiral/Sword fans that get riled up because they feel like they have something to prove, no? It's the fear of possibly being wrong that shakes them up
