I don't think it is "clear" that Kizaru is stronger than Akainu - for that, we would need to know whose Haki is superior. What is clear however is that Kizaru has no ambition at all and was likely forced to become an admiral in the first place.

His lazy ass just couldn't be bothered with becoming a fleet admiral.
Indifferent, kuzan is the lazy one

Watch Zoro fans trashing and hating on Kizaru by the end of the arc cuz he didn’t fight Zoro and change their mind to Akainu > Kizaru :suresure:

Akainu is the man. I'd put money on Akainu against any marine dead or alive with the sole exception of potentially Kong and Dragon (my head canon he used to be Admiral White Dragon and defected before Kuzan became one). That's including Garp, Sengoku, Tsuru, Kizaru, Aokiji, Fujitora, Green Bull & Tensei Kurouma.

I suppose the WG really should have appointed Kizaru though. Where as Aokiji would be to goody good for their taste, Akainu has proven to be a problem as well for the top brass. He is one to lead, not follow. You can't put a man like that as Fleet Admiral and expect him to do your dirty bidding, he wants to lead his way. Kizaru would in that aspect have been the perfect choice for the WG. Indifferent and loyal cog in the machinery that would have done the job, no questions asked. Sengoku was more of a diplomat and strategist but apart from that Kizaru would almost have been like for like replacement until someone new came along.

Posting in a clownonowa thread.
All depends on the Gorosei. If Borsalino is somebody who the Gorosei believe can best represent them, then yes... otherwise no.

Garp was never gonna be FA, since CD wanted him dead, but couldn't kill him.

Kuzan was never a candidate from the World Government pov, he was solely a candidate from Sengoku's recommendation... which didn't mean much. The reason he ended up in a fight with Saka, is because he came out in opposition to the prospect of Akainu becoming FA.

So if Kizaru was like "yo I want to be FA too" it would turn into a 3 way fight.

More interesting question would be.... will Sakazuki revolt against Kizaru being selected by the WG for FA.
Akainu didnt revolt against Kuzan being selected for FA so not sure what you mean here.
