The only reason buster call didn't burn the books is because the scholars threw all the books in the water. And I never actually said Akainu was a fascist in the first place. I think he's akin to one though.

Overusing words like fascism is why these labels lose effectiveness IRL. Being oppressive, even if extremely is not enough to define someone as a fascist or USSR would be considered a fascist country (extremely stupid considering fascism is literally anticommunism).
The truth is that we don't know enough about Akainu's beliefs, the only one is that he believe criminals = evil and must be punished/exterminated at all cost, even if there were to be massive collateral damages. I believe this is why people see Akainu as a fascist since being a law-abiding citizen and order in general is important to a fascist society. But that's the case for any authoritarian regime, and authorianism is NOT fascism.
