After Blackbeard went lunatic with his new power, Akainu gave the I'm going after your ass later look but continues with his main goal and leaves Bb for Sengoku.
I love Sakazuki’s expression here. This is the most “I don’t give a fuck” expression I’ve ever seen, and he has this reaction when Blackbeard eats two Devil Fruits and claims that he will destroy Marineford. Lol

He's really the finest villain this manga offered
Finest villain? No, finest character. It’s a shame that he has to exist in an ass tier Shonen manga for babies.

The fight wouldn't make sense, in my opinion, since I can't think of a single major fight involving Luffy where he's gone as the superior opponent against the opposite. Which is what he will be as the Pirate King, since it symbolizes being above the Emperors & Admirals.

And Dragon would be a waste on Akainu, it's like when you're aiming at the final boss for your whole life, but end up having to only deal with one of the Boss's many subjects. Would just dehype Dragon if anything.

Sabo, seeing as Akainu and co are treating him a bigger deal than even the newly named emperor Luffy, makes the most sense. Due to there being political reasons for them to fight over, which should flesh out Sabo as a revolutionary if Oda decides to have the two fight over not just the Ace revenge factor (which alone is a pretty bad reason), but also for ideological differences that the two could bring up in their fight. He'd be a more meaningful fight for somebody as complex as Akainu, rather than the "every one of my friends should have meat!!!" guy.
Hmmm that could be a strong argument against Luffy vs Akainu , never thought of that before .

I guess you don't consider Luffy vs Hody and Luffy vs Caesar major fights then ? We know Luffy was far stronger than them coming to their arcs .
If you don't consider them as major fights , i guess it's because they were fodders ? ( not even F6/Vet lvl )

So if we were to pinpoint a fight where Luffy's opponent is strong enough , what about Luffy vs Cracker then ?
Cracker was a strong Commander of Big Mom and Luffy was arguably superior in my opinion ( KKG would definitely have busted him )

What about Luffy vs Doflamingo ? Luffy was arguably superior as well
But regardless of Luffy was superior or not , Luffy could ragdoll him in G4

I mean yeah Luffy could do that to even Kaido ( in Act 1 ) , but Kaido 1 shotted him right after
We know Doflamingo couldn't do that even to an injured Luffy with his trump card ( Awakening )
We know Kaido had trump cards that he didn't even use vs Luffy in Act 1 as well ( Hybrid form , Drunken modes + FS , and his strongest attack the Flame Dragon )
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for Sabo :
As i said before i don't have any problem with him vs Akainu .
Though him taking on Akainu ..... while Kizaru and Ryokugyu are taken on by Zoro and Sanji ..... could look out of place i guess ?

But yeah Sabo will be a monster who will surpass Dragon ( a top 3 character power lvl wise IMO )
And he is in that ASL Trio with Luffy & Ace ( and Luffy has PK lvl potential or a bit more , Ace had PK lvl potential , so Sabo may have PK lvl potential himself )
So yeah Sabo vs Akainu is OK

Dragon, Gorosei, Kong (if still reigning), Blackbeard are all superior.

Akainu is Fleet Admiral not Admiral. His position is above all Admirals and Marines.

Same way PK is above all Pirates.

Akainu is gonna fight Luffy, Sabo, Dragon, Fujitora etc... and they will all get smoked.

Aokiji is gonna beat Akainu in the end.

Bunta Sugawara has always been the main antagonist in his movies, there is no doubt Akainu will be the final antagonist for One Piece as well cause Oda wants to pay homage to Bunta Sugawara.
You actually believe Oda isn't gonna have Luffy pay Akainu back for what he did? Oda writes One Piece to appease Luffy fanboys more than anything. Oda's not gonna have Akainu getting another victory like in MF. The OP fanbase already can't stand Akainu for teabagging their faves, Oda is not that dude.

Akainu will overpower everyone, it will be clear that Luffy can't beat him.

How the battle begins =/= how the battle ends. The Admirals are the WG's top fighters and loyal lapdogs of the Celestial Dragons which they call whenever someone threatens them. In a chapter where a Celestial Dragon was threatened with a gun, it was stated that it's the Admirals that guarantee their (Celestials) position. It's why Garp refused to become an Admiral, as he would serve directly under them. Heck, Saturn himself was escorted by Kizaru.

With Akainu being their first and foremost lapdog and being specifically shown next to Sabo being crowned as the flame Emperor, saying that he will finish them all once and for all, it's clear there is some build up, especially since Sabo is now replicating Ace' role.

Meanwhile Joyboy, who is connected to Imu and also has an Antithesis with Blackbeard, with Imu being concerned about both Luffy and Blackbeard, Joyboy Luffy has no business with a disposable guy like Akainu. Like literally, if Akainu dies today, nothing changes, they will just replace him with another Fleet Admiral.

The WG rules for 800 years. Who is Akainu?

Delusion and media illiteracy make for a dangerous but entertaining combo.
Very funny post overall. Way to ignore that the Revs themselves aren't keen on declaring war on the Marines and that unlike them Luffy wanted to storm Marine HQ and has to beat Admirals to surpass Roger's legend.

Ace doesn't hate Akainu but Blackbeard
Sabo vs Blackbeard confirmed, someone must avenge Thatch
It's not about hating Akainu. It's about Sabo taking on Ace' role yet again as the one standing between Luffy and Akainu, albeit this time successful. It's like Law wanting to kill Doffy himself first but then letting Luffy do the job. Sabo doing the job would fulfill multiple points:

1) Fulfilling Ace' role he had in Marineford, this time being able to step up for his brother which he regrettably couldn't back then
2) make it even for Ace death (which, again, doesn't mean he hates Akainu)
3) Dealing with one of the WG's strongest forces, which is a wall between the Celestials and those trying to raise hand against them,
4) while realizing that the scope of the lore between him and Joyboy is too big for himself.

Do you and @Extravlad understand that beating the holy knights wouldn't result in the downfall of the Celestial Dragon's anyways, which they try to abolish? So in either case, Luffy will have to fulfill the Revo's ultimate goal.
If Blackbeard dies they would replace him with another Yonko
Not really, because the Blackbeard plot goes beyond the Yonko. That's why Imu himself is butthurt because of Blackbeard and cuts into pieces his photo.
