Character Discussion Akainu's time is running out, he has to be the next villain

Akainu was the MVP of Marineford. Jinbe called his promotion to Fleetadmiral one of the two most important changes during the 2 year timeskip. Oda described his Devilfruit as the most destructive, and said Akainu would find the One Piece in one year, if he were the main character. On top of that, Akainu was the only Toptier we knew of, who defeated another Toptier (Kuzan).

We just found out that Blackbeard's father did that too. Maybe the Magmafruit is slightly more destructive than the Quakefruit, but that difference is easily offset by Teach'es other DF, and he might even get a third one. He will also defeat a Toptier, one that is probably stronger than Kuzan, Shanks. Imu is even scarier than Rocks, after all, Blackbeard's father dipped. He is getting hyped up on Elbaf right now. Akainu is getting overshadowed by Imu and Blackbeard.

If it goes on like this, then soon no one will care about the Fleetadmiral anymore. If Oda intends to use him as a big bad villain, it has to be now or never. Therefore i predict that the Strawhats are going to New Marineford after Elbaf. Oda didn't build up Akainu, for it all to go to waste.

I have absolutely no idea why people think Luffy is going to randomly travel all the way back to New Marineford when they are literally 95% of the way to Lodestar and Laugh Tale. Its not happening. The most I personally see is someone like Blackbeard assaulting New Marineford and killing maybe Kizaru at the end of it.

Primarily, that is because I 100% believe Akainu, like the other Yonko, will fight each other for One Piece. I always say that you can look at who Luffy will fight based on actual, serious matchups for Zoro and Sanji's analogs. Go back to every fundamental arc that involved both of them with direct fights:

- Mr. 1 and 2
- Kaku and Jabra
- King and Queen

Each involved a duo that had a rivalry with each other and have gags about it. Fujitora and Ryokugyuu are virtually no different, especially after Fuji's slave gag in Mariejoa and him and Ryo fighting lol.

I absolutely think that post Elbaf will bring the Marines in direct conflict with Luffy's crew and entire fleet. Thats going to be the "big incident" his fleet causes: The formal destruction of the current Marine force. 5600 subordinates coming to help Luffy while they take on some form of ambush from Akainu.

All the while Blackbeard takes advantage either at or near Marineford, or he's close by Luffy fighting Shanks, who could also be protecting Luffy while he deals with Akainu.

This sequence is coming, I absolutely feel it in by bones considering everything the marines have been saying since the end of Wano.

fujitora is indeed zoro's opponent, but ryokugyu is not sanji's. you can go by fighting style, but also my personality, it is kizaru. ryokugyu will be taken out by sabo.

how would the strawhats make it all the way back to marineford hq? i don't see any problem here. many different options.
-it takes them many days or a few weeks, we get some chapters from other parts of the world in the mean time, for example blackbeard vs shanks
-kuma (or someone who inherits the fruit) paws the strawhats (or just the whole ship)
-loki's df allows fast travel (flying) or other ways of transport
-dragon shows up and uses windpowers to power the sails, allowing fast travel
-hancock shows up with poison snakes, allowing them to sail through the calm belt, which might make travel easier (no crazy weather)

the navy hq was moved into the new world, for a reason. akainu is chained to his desk. luffy has to come to him.

Kizaru is not getting relegated to Sanji at this point, his story has been told. Ryokugyu is the analog to Sanji. He cooks food (made some for Fujitora during the Reverie) and is a womanizer. He also doesn't even eat.

Just because Kizaru vaguely uses light kicks does not mean thats equivalent to Sanji's opponent lol, almost none of Sanji's opponents fight with their legs.

And we arent traveling backwards my guy, theres literally no motivation for the crew. If they didnt go back to Mariejoa for Vivi, then they arent going back for anything else either.

Nah Kizaru is the clear odd man out he belongs with the C3. The new recruits are a duo.

Akainu and Aokiji are not fighting Luffy's wings, Kizaru will be delegated to another role as well.

Why are you putting out 2 examples that literally were never proper Sanji fights to begin with lmao? That should clearly show you why a Luffy opponent isnt going to be relegated to Sanji ever.
