Future Events Alliance will lose this war

So as the title says, I think alliance will lose this war and the reason why I think that will happen is- Usopp

1. Capture and Torture
Oda has been "teasing" dialogue with Usopp about him being captured and tortured. He even has a chat with Nami about it, which seems out place for Oda, because let's be honest, Oda doesn't let characters talk about things for no reason unless it serves for plot later.





2. Third act of Kabuki play
"Usually this act speeds up the action leading to a dramatic moment or tragedy in the third act."
Which is exactly what is happening right now. We are now having actions chapters so the end of third act has to have a tragedy- Usopp captured by the enemies.

3. Nami and Sanji
The people who Usopp talked to about being captured and tortured are Sanji and Nami. And currently all 3 of them are in the same place.

I predict that at the end of act 3 Alliance will probably be in a losing situation, Sanji will be busy with protecting alliance and this will probably lead to Usopp sacrificing himself for the alliance's survival. Both sides will probably be left with fodder dead but the big players alive which will lead to a smaller war between just main players.

Sanji feeling guilty for not protecting Usopp, Nami knowing how hard it was for Usopp to do. This will lead to Sanji and Nami making Usopp rescue operation while Alliance will have part 2 vs Kaido.
And the one torturing Usopp will probably either be King or Queen which will lead to Sanji with Nami's help vs a Calamity

Doesn't fit in with Oda's pace and estimation about ending One Piece in 4-5 years (even though it'll likely be stretched longer).

Kaido needs to be taken care of right here and now. They've got everything they need. Thousands of soldiers and unplanned heavy hitters in their alliance like Kid. We just saw Oden's flashback and everything which set up Kaido more as a villain. Even more, the past 50 chapters (and nearly the past 7-8 years) have led to this, to taking down Kaido. Ever since Luffy and Law made an alliance, the next big goal was Kaido.

It'll be a terrible subversion.

I thought that a similar plotline would occur right after Sanji and Zoro saved Toko.
My idea was that Sanji would have saved Usopp from being captured just to be captured himself instead.
King or Queen would torture him, cut one of his forearms and feed him a Smile, that would have had no visible effect on him at first because of his modified (but inactive) lineage factor.
Then the double modification would start to develop his exoskeleton and his dormant powers.


I was obviously wrong but i would appreciate a torture plotline even now :cheers:

For me there are two scenarios ( one I can't explain about what will happen afterward )

1. They totally lose. If we about to be real Big Mom won't betray Kaido or go Hunger Pangs enough of these jokes oda. The alliance is up against two Yonko where only Luffy showed the ability to combat on YC1 level and no his ryuo training won't elevate him to fu**ing Yonko level. This is the one where I can't explain what will happen afterward.

2. Marines and Revos involvement. This is the only chance for the Alliance to win. Marines must send at least 2 to 3 Admirals with their fleets maybe as a plan of proving themselves as Wano saviors and proposing them a place in the WG for a small exchange ( ekhem heavenly tribute ). Admirals will shrink the power gap between the Yonkos and their opponents and their fleet would be helpful considering the enemy's 40k fodders + It would be a perfect time for the Admirals to prove everybody including KOL that they can fight the Yonko. Of course they will not ally themselves with Luffy's alliance but they will at least create more options for them.

They at least won't win on Onigashima with two Yonkos being against them and having not shown their true power yet, with the supernovas being not strong enough yet, and with players such as Nekomamushi, Hiyori or Tama being absent.

The true final battle will happen in Wano itself.

Even if Usopp gets captured he would not snitch. Usopp is not a weak minded character, he did not even faint against Big Mom's CoC at the tea party.

You fail to realize that behind all the facade of him being weak/cowardly he is very loyal to the stawhats, he has a strong will power and strong sense of justice despite being a pirate. He was also very empathetic after learning about Oden and the history of Wano.

Honestly you don't understand his character and what Oda has built up over the years.

Unless something really unexpected happens they will obviously fail....the only possible way for they to win is if Kaido and BM decide not to give a single fuck about alliance and ignore them hoping the calamities+smoothie can take them out....
But also BM has recently eaten so currently her chances of going crazy and cause damage to the BP are pretty low and thats SOOOOOOOOO BAD for the alliance basically it's 2 Kaidos to take down now and it was already super hard to take down 1......we have to wait and see how this develops but currently on the paper they're fkt badly....

Wait, wasn't there also an interview with Oda where he said something like "Luffy will learn that sometimes you have to sacrifice something to win" or something along this lines?

Also I admit the talk Usopp did is a lit suspicious.. Maybe he got captured but resists and doesn't spill the beans but gets an everlasting injury or worse (even if I doubt Oda will really kill a SH) which leads ti act 4. Also we still lack some important infos aka where the hell is Neko and if don't get it really soon that pribably means this raid will fail and Neko arrives later (with something new?) To give new hope.

Oda has to involve the citizens who are all in Wano. He always does so he can draw shocked pikachu face and eyes bulging. And typically ending with the island half destroyed.

Not sure if the alliance will lose or the battle might extend to the mainland. Hopefully the latter, the arc needs to ramp up the tension.
