The build-up of him getting captured by Marines but escapes everytime + falling from Sky Island and survives makes it the greatest debut in One Piece history.
2. Saturn
I know some folks might say recency bias but a demonic circle summoning and exploding dude's head for staring at Saturn makes it one of the most menacing entrances. And Saturn's design is amazing.
3. Kizaru
Kizaru standing on cannonball is forever iconic and badass.
4. Katakuri
Kata shooting the bean at some dude and bounty reveal of over 1 billion gave me goosebumps. Plus he's the first character to show Advanced Haki usage in the series.
5. Mihawk
Mihawk cutting Krieg's ship in half and pulling up in a coffin boat is badass and iconic, but his debut doesn't hit me as hard as the four above. Probably because it was such a long time ever since I watched Mihawk's intro in the anime.
Best appearance is Kizaru. Mf came in rising a cannonball and the manga was so hype back then.
Most intimidating was Saturn. Especially because Saturn said there's only one way to stop nika and that's to take away his smile. The implication being kill one of his nakama. Luffy didn't eat a smile fruit so he's not forced to smile. Hurting his friends might weaken or eject Luffy from g5.
Kaidous was the best naratively.
And katakuris is most badass.
Though overall I say Saturn was the best. We didn't expect Luffy to be ready for any of the other three so it lacks tension. But luffy needs to face off against the goursei so the tension is high. Even if Sanji holds off Saturn holds off Luffy is responsible for what ever happens.
1. Saturn - blowing up a man’s head, erupting from a pentagram, the entire island trembling when he appears. This is an intro
2. Kaido - The narrator introduction was great and jumping from the sky island was nuts for the time too
3. Kizaru - Flying in on a cannonball then instantly destroying a tree and crushing the supernova was awesome
4. Mihawk - Cutting a ship in half and the panel just gave off solid vibes
5. Katakuri - He killed a fodder with FS but didn’t give the vibe of the othera
--Talking purely from intro perspective , its between Kaido and saturn. Saturn gives more demonic/creepy vibes where as Kaido gives vibes of enormity and personification of raw strength.
--Tough to say but Kaido edges out for me.
--As for built up ; Kaido's narrative is better. Its like a story.
