Didn't study it myself, but hearing of the experiences of others, electrical engineering is harder than mechanical engineering. The math is more sophisticated and makes up a larger amount as compared to mechanical engineering. In mechanical engineering, you got stuff like construction, component design, chemistry, etc. Electrical Engineering is mostly pure math and abstraction, designing circuits, transmission, etc.

So why have you lost interest in mechanical engineering? What are your interests, what are you aiming for? I kinda doubt electrical engineering will be of much interest to you if you "lost interest" in mechanical engineering. Like, what part of mechanical engineering was uninteresting, what part was interesting? How did you handle the math, did you enjoy it?
