Did Shanks have to contradict his character in order to stand up to Aramaki?

Mr. "we don't play fair"

seethes when Aramaki "doesn't fight fair". Even though he gave alliance 7 days of rest and and number advantage by showing up solo.
Apparently Aramaki was supposed to come half dead in order for it to be fair for alliance.

Says that you are not supposed to threaten people without taking action
and yet, he only managed to threaten Aramaki without taking any action himself:

Keeps talking about how great the new gen is for accomplishing things,
yet saved them without trusting that they can handle it themselves:
You don't know how to read lol.

Pirates don't fight fair. Aramaki is a marine. Shanks is not treating him fairly himself, and is talking shit.

He doesn't say anything about threatening people without taking action, he says it's dangerous to point guns. The implication is that you should expect the other guy to shoot too. He's not threatening without taking action, he's threatening and wishing a mf would take action to provoke him.

The "new era" that he's saving are the kids that remind him of Luffy as a kid, Momo and Toko, who obviously can't handle themselves. Luffy is the current era.

Guy wants spoiler clout but has no reading comprehension and doesn't even like reading the manga lol

Aramaki shows up solo against an alliance who is superior to two emperors + one emperor crew and this retarded snitch talks about fairness despite them having over a week to recover lol
Aramaki is literally one of the the ballsiest characters in the series, this is why the threat of something equal to 3 emperors was necessary to have him retreat.
Good point. He didn't run from shanks, he was totally ready to fight a force that was 2 yonko tier. Three was just a little too much though and made it high diff.

I don't know if yonko fans really want to point to this to power scale anymore considering it means aramaki is as strong as three yonko

To be fair, I am certain that Shanks appearance in Wano to stop an admiral was a marketing trick to advertise the new movie. I still think all those pages with Shanks reading the newspaper and telling his crew that it's time to find the one piece would exist but he wouldn't have been close to Wano let alone stop the admiral. Actually, I believe the admiral himself wouldn't have appeared at all in this case.

Still a threat would have to appear that would still force Yamato to stay since that's what Oda apparently wanted but I thought Shank's appearance was too random

Stopping Akainu with ease is being a “pussy and coward”? Or did you conveniently forget about MF.
Shanks had his whole crew to back him up against Akainu and Aramaki lol. Shanks isn’t brave enough to pick a fight without his baby sitters to protect him.

Meanwhile Waramaki charged headfirst at an alliance that killed two Yonko and didn’t use stealth or underhanded tactics lol. A third Yonko crew had to sneak him like a bunch of bitches to make him retreat.

Shanks doesn't care about rules,because...he is a pirate lol So fuck Aramaki not having the upper hand,it is only natural for Shanks to be unfair.

I mean, Shanks has always been a pussy and a coward so nothing is contradicted.

Cowardice and cheating are by nature Pirate traits. Lol

What are talking about? There were 4 admirals plus Garp plus a marine fort plus countless marine fodder, etc. at MF. Shanks pretty much ignored Akainu and addressed a stressed Sengoku.

Brocolli head? He and Fuji did such a great job capturing Sabo. Broccoli boy gave Momo a good fight, though.

Of course Shanks spoke to Sengoku, Sengoku was the guy who was going to order Akainu to stand down, lol. Shanks pleading for Sengoku to protect him from Akainu isn’t the flex you think it is.

And Waramaki negging a Primebeard level Pirate invalidates all out of context claims you can make about the Admirals lol. Admirals annihilate Shanks the coward with ease.

He goes out of his way to say Aramaki isn't playing fair because again rules and such don't matter but Luffy and his allies have accomplished great things and Shanks is against him going after them so soon after their exploits. Shanks is allowed to have agency as a character and he was never portrayed as apathetic to the new gen, in fact he bet on Luffy, he's basically just ensuring no one comes along and prevents Luffy from going even further. Nothing contradictory.

Aramaki's boss though of course for being willing to go against the alliance but Oda didn't disregard Shanks' character and in fact takes it into consideration but Shanks is a free mam, he can do whatever he wants, including saving Luffy.
