Character Discussion Are Garp and Garling friends?

Garp says he hates Celestial Dragons, could Saint Garling be an exception? They probably fought together on God Valley. They could also have bonded over family issues. Both have sons that didn't do what the father wanted. Shanks and Dragon.

This Garling is for sure a bad guy (opposite to Garp) who is a CD and, as shown, totally embraces their ideologism (so trash). If Garp knows him most likely he hates him. That would give even more contrast if there was an alliance in God valley between Garling, Garp and Roger.

What I find more interesting is that his face is shaped like a moon and knowing how important the moon is in One piece then he could potentially be an important character (even more than simply being the father of Shanks).

No. Garp hates CDs, and Garling is the epitome of evil mass murdering CD. The odds are that once Garp figured out what the CDs were doing at God Valley it cemented his hate for them and why he refused to be an admiral. The real question is, why did Garp and Roger team up to fight Rocks? Because both Garp and Roger had to be disgusted with the shit the CDs were doing in God Valley. So why team up to fight Rocks, instead of teaming up with Rocks to fuck up the CDs.

Oda has a lot of explaining to do.

On top of that, Garp is a D, "gods' natural enemy", according to DoFlamingo.
