Character Discussion Are Kaido and Linlin important to the story?

Pretty sure if you ask if any character except the main ones could be removed from the story to make it better- almost everyone would try to remove something or someone and argue it's better without them.
*Cough* I mean, I wouldn't do that- because I actually like the story. But ya the average Worstgen member would tinker with the story and think they know how to write it better than the author does. Certainly.

Kaido defined the entire post TS. Events from Punk Hazard to Wano were all leading upto him. He was the gatekeeper to Joyboy.
Of course Kaido is important, as well as integral to the story.
BM was important to her arc standalone, but in Wano she felt like an extra hurdle. BM is important, plays a role in worldbuilding.....but I feel like the story can do without her as well.

Calling them Filler Yonko,altough satisfying for me,i recognize its a provocation,because after all they had the Road Ponyeglyps so they had to be beaten. But,as many people knows,the real sequel of what happened in Marineford started now with Egghead. The Kaido/Big Mom saga,altough had moments important for the story (Gear 5,Sabo is alive reveal,some info here and there) was almost like a deviation from the continuation of the story after Marineford. Now we are back to the actual story about the search for the One Piece.
What do you mean by important? if you mean narratively speaking, after One Piece ends we look back at everything.
No, Kaido and Big Mom have a very clear and minor purpose, they are just in the story to serve as a roadblock, to be a luffy fight for the plot rocks.
fighting them is important, but it's just one more step in the overachieving narrative all the way to taking down the WG, they still are a pivotal part of the manga, where things change a lot after their defeat.
but comparing it to the void century, Imu, and so on, they aren't relevant in the grand scheme.
