I think it's time for another question to ask the class

Do you guys think The Gorosei are 100% loyal to Imu or do they serve him for more selfish reasons? or just purely out of fear? do the follow him out of Loyalty and Respect? Fear and Self preservation or is it merely to acheive their own goals and agendas?

why do you think the gorosei follow Imu? and are they 100% Loyal?

We have no reason to assume any suspicious agenda so far. They all talk in unison and communicate telepathically plus have sold their soul to Imu it seems. That makes betrayal really friggin hard. Garlling might be the exception but I think he will be even worse tbh, while the Gorousei seem pretty passive at times I expect Garling to be way more of an agressive wild card.

I think most of them are, but not all of them. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if all of them have little secrets that they've been hiding from Imu, like Saturn did. I'm not sure if I count that as being "disloyal", though, personally. Saturn didn't MEAN for Emet to blow up in the World Government's face...literally. If anything, it seems like he might have been planning to study Emet in order to help the World Government. So, I'm not sure if I count that as "disloyalty".

V Nusjuro, Mars, and Warcury are probably all pretty loyal. And Qilingham also refers to Imu using a old-fashioned honorific, "ontai", meaning "boss" or "beloved leader", in chapter 1151. So, I actually think Imu is pretty beloved by those who actually know them. I don't think they're just following Imu out of fear. They might actually be pretty fond of their little leader.

It's the other two Gorosei that I'm not sure about.

Garling, like others have pointed out. He just comes across as the kind of character with ulterior motives. And if anyone's going to truly betray Imu, it's probably going to be him. Although, maybe that's just because of the glasses. The glasses make him look like he's hiding something. He really hasn't DONE anything to show he's disloyal to Imu.

But, there's also Ju Peter. This has been more subtle. But...he's been sweating...a lot. And we've been focusing on his face a few times, when he looks doubtful or afraid. Something's going on with Ju Peter. I'm not sure if it'll turn out to be that he's a total double agent or something. But, something's going on there. Oda's setting something up. I'm just not sure what. Maybe he's a traitor, or maybe he's just keeping a secret like Saturn was. But, Ju Peter's probably going to be one of the Gorosei to keep a eye on.

So, I'd say 3 out of 5 are probably pretty loyal. That's not bad. More than half anyway.

Since the only two times that Ju Peter has shown visible concern, with noticeable sweat, were in relation to Shanks and Garling, it might be something about the Figarland Family as a whole that worries him.

Ju Peter's Abyss number is most likely 1, while Garling has probably taken Saturn's 5. But as the crescent moon, Garling should become the closest to Imu. Maybe a betrayal will occur then.

I don’t think they can afford not to be.

Imu can kill them at a moments notice, wherever they are in the world. All he needs to do is remove the immortality, which seems to have kept them alive long after they should have died.

I do suppose that this then means it might not apply to Garling, who hasn’t yet reached the age where he would die if it was taken away. So an ambitious Garling could have his own plans and not especially fear Imu.

Pretty sure Ju Peter’s confirmed Abyss number is 4. Warcury is 1.

They kinda need to be very loyal, since Imu seemingly can just off them in a snap, but it's clear since Egghead that they might have their own agendas. Saturn, for example, decided on his own to preserve Emeth to study its technology after it attacked Mary Geoise 200 years ago (there was already an order to destroy it)... although it was apparently for the improvement of the WG.

Another thing to note is that Imu probably also leaves the CDs and even the Gorosei "in the dark" about the Void Century, so we don't really know how deep they're inside the "masterplan" and how much they're actually manipulated.

Nothing is confirmed about the others, but Garling probably has his own plans too, since he's shown as one of the key players of chapter #1121 double spread. (There's also a possibity that Imu can't just end him like Saturn, because he's still within his normal lifespan, and that may be the reason that he can be more daring than the others.)
