Character Discussion Are there any good-faith arguments for Nami being the left hand/unofficial general instead of Sanji?

Panel time should tell you what Oda says about the crews hierarchy, I mean Luffy, Zoro and Nami have way more panel time than any other crew members, Nami is currently in 3re place and has more than double of Sanji's screen time, heck Usopp is only now behind Sanji because of WCI but he will reclaim his 4th place again by end of next arc.
So yeah Oda clearly thinks Luffy, Zoro and Nami are more important than any other crew member just by how much panel time is dedicated to them, you can clearly tell by the way he works every plot point to have either Luffy, Zoro or Nami is the driving factors of it.

It's really apples to oranges. Zoro and Nami were the first two because their goals align with Luffy best and being the best in regards to their goals is vital. They are the two most likely to be found at his side.
Sanji however has the greatest variety of high level skills. Well, up til now at least. Jinbe is a game changer and it's clear because Oda made a point to show Sanji being jealous. But it's not like Sanji is actually "replaced" because his skills are unique. This isn't DBZ where the supporting cast becomes irrelevant.

Nope my friend, Nami and Zoro have more than double what Sanji has in reality.
I don't count flashbacks, maybe that's why Sanji is fighting for 4th place with Usopp on my list.
Majority of Sanji's panel time I guess is thanks to his flashbacks but not in the stories current timeline.

Nami does have narrative importance to the story. She fixed Luffy's hat (his treasure) after his fight with Buggy.
Luffy also gave her his hat to wear during Arlong Park.
When Nami was sick and needed a doctor on Drum Island, Luffy bowed his head and showed humility. (I can't remember if this was anime only)
Nami and Zoro with Luffy when Blackbeard declared that "men's dreams never die"
She helped Luffy reach Enel.
She helped Luffy defeat Cracker.
However, it is Sanji, not Nami that has lead the crew.
Both characters are important to the narrative of the story.
