Character Discussion Are you satisfied of Robin's development and use after the timeskip or not ?

I don't complain about Robin lack of developement in the NW, cause is clear that she'll have one of the most important roles in the verse during EoS.
Oda has to balance her character and he's doing it this way, her time will come
Disagree on the "balance" part, She may have an important part to play, but neglecting her character and abilities is a no go...

My first contact with One Piece was watching a random dubbed episode.
It was Baratie Arc. I THINK it was the fight against Gin? I just saw that dude with a suit, fighting with kicks.
"Damn that character is kinda cool".
A year later a friend tells me to watch One Piece from start. I remembered Sanji and thought "oh, the anime with that cool kicking character. Ok, gonna give it a shot".
Sanji is the reason I actually gave One Piece a chance. Reaching Baratie and seeing how cool he was there was one of the best moments I had with OP in general.
Oda's gotta do some REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL nasty shit aside from overused japanese pervert gags, for me to dislike the character.

Besides, I've played and DM'ed RPG for years. I played and met my fair share of flawed characters and badass characters. To me, flawed characters are way more relatable.
Sanji's Vinsmoke arc also reminded me of Zuko, which made me look at Zeff as some Uncle Iroh. This made me love these characters even more.

Hopefully after Wano there’s less focus on just Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, pirates from other crews and we get more time on the other Straw Hats.
Well yeah there was a lot of focus about Sanji too since post TS came to a start. Maybe not as much in Wano as before but the general point remains, Oda has focused on the M3 way too much compared to the rest of the pot. More is fine, he needs to deploy the most prominent members first, but exaggeration doesn't yield. I hope all SHs will have their solid moment this arc, after all these year of incessant wait.

Am I excited for the role she’s bound to play once the Revolutionaries (with whom she spent the entire timeskip) become more prominent when the only enemy left for Luffy to vanquish is the WG?? Without a doubt.

Do I think she’s been completely wasted since Fishman Island?? Who doesn’t?? Forget the fact that she hasn’t had a significant fight in many years other than brief clashes with various Doflamingo executives, she’s barely factored into the plot at all in that time. The mention of keeping her alive by Big Mom recently again forecasts her future importance, but since the return to Sabaody, she’s been completely marginalized.

Since the beggining of the second part of the manga were you really satisfied by how Robin was developped and how she was used in the story between the return to Saobody and the current events of Wano ?

Or do you think that Robin really lost of her charm as a character since the period before the timeskip ? If yes how do you think that she should have been used and what character and power developments do you think should have been given to her ?
I feel like I got to know Robin by the time of Thriller Bark, but after the time skip, for some reason, I feel as if I know her a little less similar to the feeling I had to when I was watching her at Skypiea. Her past was well-written, but I’m not talking about the Robin from two years ago, I’m talking about the Robin of today, which keeping in mind her moments she has helped out, her funny moments, and her future importance at Laugh Tale, honestly feels a little more distant to me.

Robin has stayed pretty static in her character ever since her arc in Enies Lobby was completed. Part of this is her own calm nature and the fact that she's so comfortable being part of the Straw Hats., but Oda hasn't really put her through much conflict since the timeskip too.

Though as we approach Laught Tale more and more, her importance in being able to read the Poneglyphs is becoming more and more notorious as we've seen with Big Mom. If she does get taken away from the SHs again, i could see her going through another character development.

Her going through conflict and seeing more sides to her character on a, not the same, but similar level to Sanji’s conflict at Whole Cake Island, shouldn’t just start and stop at the poneglyphs and kidnapping though, because that starts to sound like “she’ll be more interesting in the future.”
