It's a bait thread, but I'll give a more serious answer.
Kinda, but not really equivalent.
From the start, there was no delusion of Zoro actually being strong enough to fight Kaido 1v1 (at least from majority of ZKK pushers).
They were expecting a 5v2 against Yonkos, where Zoro gets the killshot on Kaido.
And when that route stopped, I don't even think the next idea was Zoro kills a defeated or unconscious Kaido. IIRC it was more of both Luffy/Kaido gets knocked down but Kaido gets back up first, or Kaido barely wins against Luffy..... and then Zoro gets the killshot before he could kill Luffy.
But that's besides the point.
Garling is a fraud because Loda portrayed him to be much stronger and impressive than he turned out to be. "Distinguished in God Valley" "Champion of God Valley" alongside other events in recent times such as promotion to Gorosei, presence in spread of contenders for OP as the Gorosei representative, etc.
NOBODY could've imagined the humiliation that was in store for him in the actual God Valley. Subversion of expectations of the highest order lmao.

im not sure about that, but killing kaido was mostly about the emphasis there was on kaido being hard to wound and kill, but i seriously doubt any zkk bro thought kaido would be lying on the ground unable to move. werent most like arguing it will happen above the flower capital so the wano people will witness it?

all of which were painted as zoro actually fighting kaido a bit and then killing him. It was not painted by majority as zoro mercy killing an incapacitated kaido after condom beat him

Technicalities don't really matter. Other than it just being pure headcanon, even if Oda actually drew it, I'd have hated it because it's lame af. Zoro coming in for the kill after Kaido's been defeated, etc... doesn't really do much for him. Him taking out a Lunarian monster like King 1 on 1 was more impressive anyway.
