Yeah, i agree Worst

the problem is that there won't be a need for that many programmers / coders to do that lmao

most of the people out there are making basic apps, websites and more simple solutions are fucked

sure, people that are working on high-end stuff like you said will keep their jobs, but that's not the reality for most people
I agree and disagree, this might ofc be a possibility, but it also means we can step it up a notch and do even more complicated things than what we see it's complicated today

The only way to counter AI is not to fear it but to use it cuz there's no way to stop it, like imagine you're a mid developer, and you get the chance to have the best coding teacher in the world at your disposal you can ask him to explain you all the things you want in all the possible ways untill you get it

Imho it will lower the learning curve for a lot of things, sure there will be a day where VERY VERY FEW jobs people will do better than AI but it means we will also be able to start working on more complicated things overall

I asked it:

I wouldn't say that ChatGPT is a tool for "lazy people." While it can certainly make certain tasks easier and more convenient, it's not designed solely for that purpose. The goal of ChatGPT and other AI language models like it is to provide people with quick and accurate information, to save them time and effort in certain situations, and to help automate tasks that would otherwise require human intervention.

ChatGPT can be useful in many different ways, such as providing customer support, answering frequently asked questions, or even helping people learn new information. However, it's important to remember that ChatGPT is not a perfect tool and its responses should not always be taken as gospel. The model is trained based on patterns in the data it has seen, and it can sometimes produce inaccurate or nonsensical responses. In such cases, it's up to the users to use their judgment and critical thinking skills to determine the accuracy of ChatGPT's output.

I hope you're right

but it feels like a very optimistc mindset

we humans usually fuck it up and use new tech for doing horrible things lmao

and i've seen many uses of that already

winning art contests using AI, students cheating college by just using the AI answer, making porn of celebrities and content creators and so on...

that's what i expect from humanity lmao

My mindset isn't negative
I'm just being realistic
When ai and automation steals everyone's job then your education won't be worth shit.
You are also blowing things out of proportion:

AI will start to replace "low-skill" jobs. Things like handing out the food on the drive-thru for example. In 10 years doctors will still be doctors, and many people won't trust a robot to do a surgery for example. How can you hold a robot responsible if a medical mistake happens ?

Better enjoy your life now because it's not going to get easier.
Even in my relatively rich country the new generations won't be able to retire. There's already mass poverty among the elderly.
I agree that the future will be harder and we should enjoy our time now. Everybody tries to do that I think.

They won't retire because nobody will be paying their pensions. Their will be more old retired people compared to young worker generating money in the economy.

I'm not pessimistic at all.
We should live in the moment instead of betting on a future that we may never receive.
This isnt't an excuse for not developing yourself. If the future arrives and you see you could've built something good for yourself, you will only regret the time you wasted.

The future isn't bright at all I agree, but this doesn't mean we can't work towards a better future for ourselves.

The reason AI is big now is because finally computers got fast enough to train it in a reasonable amount of time, an AI can be trained for decades but since computer are so fast now we can squeze decades into months so now resarchers can see results faster and tweak algorithms to get more accurate results a lot faster
Thats true. My point was AI is not magic. You need to meet conditions to make it work accurately, e.g., good datasets and algorithms. So I always take the great results of AI advertised in the media with a grain of salt.

The thing is:

it's not in the media anymore

it's my own hands and my computer

we can do shit with it

and people are doing that

People don't realise how huge and revolutionary this is

and this is what it was capable of a couple of years ago and the exponential rate at which it's getting more advanced by the day.

Oh yeah i'm positive about bc i know how i'm gonna use it to not fall behind xD

If u ask me i see 2 main problems with this:

1) This thing evolves WAY faster than people who are not in the field can even imagine, in 5 years from now ( let alone 10 ) the world will be A LOT different than what it is today, this is a tech that accelerates at a crazy rate! So at this rate i don't think we'll be able to regulate it before it's " too late "

and

2) It's not something you and i can do in our basement, it takes a tremendous amount of data and computation power and a lot of smart people to do something somewhat decent, so there will likely be AIs from google / microsoft / aple and that's probbly it it's gonna be a first come first served market so there's gonna be A LOT of power in the hands of few companies ( even more than now ) and that's definetly not a good thing.......

There are a lot of things media don't know xD

What you see now in the media is the " stupidest " version of AI we will see, it's just a baby technology and agan let me repeat whilee it's true that they've done this for decades only now ( the last 2/3 years ) they have been able to concretely transform all that resarch into " reality " and all the algorithms get outdated in a couple of months stuff ( resarch / algorithms ) that was considered " very advanced " 4 months ago it's old news today, it's insane how fast this goes...
