Controversial Aspiring to be the pirate king is not impressive for a top tier

#1
I think as a top tier aspiring to be the pirate king is not impressive, I feel like it should be left for weak people like east blue fluffy, but if you where always a top tier and you needed to aspire for something grand, you should settle for being at the ultimate top; because we know that even if roger did not die his crew wasn't that impressive, probably weaker than rocks crew.

It is like a superstar aspiring to be the best on his team (yes, impressive), but less impressive compared to being the best in the league.

A pirate king can be less influential than a king of a strong nation, the fleet admiral, an underground mobster, etc. but the king of the world is the ultimate achievement, and nothing can top that.

Being King of the pirates directly considered a rival to king of the world.
Why?
Because Rocks Was kings of the pirates for few years and he directly rivaled IMU, challenged IMU.

Now It is Luffy (NIKA) Who is aspiring to be KOTP and will be directly challenging IMU soon which is obvious.

IMO, Roger and his crew was much smarter than Luffy. They found one piece, they figured out they aren't meant to rebel IMU, someone else is.

Yea for most great pirates PK means just a little bit extra of wealth and power. Without greater goals like BM it's really meaningless. Kaido is was the worst of the contender since he didn't really have any greater goals.

Harder than being the strongest swordsman, something that some might argue is the strongest man in the world.
The Pirate king rules the sea of a mostly submerged world.
Imagine if someone ruled the sky in our modern world, making every commercial flight unsafe.

For a planet with more sea than land, being PK > being king of the world
IMU can rule from the shadows, away from any nuisance, but a PK still sails the seas and is challenged by pirates right and left.
PK is more tied to power than WG king is.

The impressive part is being in the running.

Only the Emperors were considered in the running for the title.

Until Blackbeard and Luffy showed up.
You know what I think is really crazy?

@The DevilMaster @MonsterKaido the stronger young Kaido and Big Mom and Shanks and Mihawk are, the more it means they just sat there and did nothing for decades instead of training enough to be way stronger than the others, then defeating them and taking the One Piece

There is a timeframe component to it. You can't just go and take the OP no matter how strong you are until the time is right.

I get it man but they don't know that, they just chose to not train, Kaido chose to be a tyrant and go worororo and drink, Big Mom chose to be a tyrant and eat a lot, Shanks who knows he might know, and Mihawk maybe just got bitter

If they trained they would have defeated the others and then went there and found that out but they didn't and I think that's crazy that they chose not to

Shanks knows that.
Kaido knew how important Wano was for Joyboy, and that you can't get the OP until JB returns.
Likely BM knows this too.
They weren't being lazy: they were consolidating empires before the FW.

I don't know if Kaido Big Mom and Mihawk knew, but the thing is that if Kaido and Big Mom didn't know and were just preparing, training to surpass yonko level is way better preparation than sitting there and being a tyrant

Plus I don't know what Kaido thinks but he's at least partly mistaken, because Emeth confirmed Luffy is not Joyboy, and Joyboy is a guy from the past, who could be the Nika deity and come again in the future

The only way you can say Joyboy is the man who defeated Kaido is if his spirit is in the Nika fruit and that's what defeated Kaido, which does seem to be true, because Oda drew a white spirit as part of the new strawhat robot formation, but Joyboy wasn't physically there to do that

Had Kaido trained continuously and awakened his DF, he would be above roger :myman:

Kaido with FOUR DECADES of training and awakened fruit >>> Roger

Dude this guy was that strong and chose to not train much for four decades

I thought young Kaido would be weak because no way did he actually sit there all that time
