No. Kaido's model is Azure dragon. Just like kaku has ox ox fruit model giraffe -- His DF is giraffe not ox

--Looking objectively there can be 3 situations all them having reasoning behind them
--Kaido does not have awakening -- Reminder Kaido has mythical zoan and not a normal zoan and even then normal zoan awakening is highlighted by form change and when used case in point Lucci. Kaido's hybrid on its own is lack luster already not taking dura advantage so if indeed his bulky form is awakening ; its extremely weak and trash awakening for a mythical zoan. Luffy's awakening shits on Kaido's for example

Funny you mention this, I could see this being the case, as wasn't Oden the only person we've known to almost kill Kaido too? I thought that might trigger his awakening when Oden cut him like that but sadly not...
Someone suggested the reason Kaido couldn't awaken is because his fruit is a guardian deity and thus directly contradicts his own philosophy, attitude and such. The fruit didn't choose him either as we know Zoans are sentient too and choose their owners supposedly, well try to and Big Mom gave Kaido his fruit instead?
This makes most sense for why he didn't have or show it then imo.

It's weird either way honestly. If he has it, why didn't Oda just say it. No point keeping it vague whilst having pretty much every other awakened user state it though Kaku also displayed it without clarifying so it could be the case. If he doesn't have it, then the World's Strongest Creature with quite a hyped up fruit and powers couldn't awaken after decades which just seems underwhelming.
I think Blazing Bagua works fine as an awakened form and I'd prefer Oda clarifying but at this point, it's strange either way. I still think it's understandable to think he didn't have it considering Oda could've just said as much but I'm not really firm on any side, I would just prefer Kaido being awakened over not.

Crocodile said a similar lines in Alabasta. He just didn't say "Awakening" directly.
At least until Impel Down where Croc mentions "Awakening" for the first time.
It's up to folks to think if Crocodile or Kaido have Awakening or not.
