When luffy told Zoro he will be pirate king, Zoro didnt realy have an answer at that time. He just wanted to be the World Strongest swordman.

Prior to Wano, Zoro never cared about being a king, just protecting his captain and help his nakama was his only worry. He never realy carred about himself beside his WSS dream. If anything his dream become second concern when he asked Mihawk to train him.

In his fight against King, Zoro realized more about himself this ambition of a king and because he doesnt want to challenge Luffy's leadership like Ussop, not that he cant he decided to be his shadow king, the co captain and right hand man that work alongside him.


Once his declaration to become the king of hell. Its his answer to luffy pirate king dream.

I will quote Zoro word for words.

Zoro having flashback: King of the pirates?

Zoro thinking for himself: Guess I might as well become the king of hell.

Nice catch, Zoro only come up with the King of hell shit because he remembered that Luffy wants to be PK. King of Hell is Zoro's answer to the newspaper title, now he needs to make other people know about it. :quest:

as for ben beckman , he was talked about in the same light as the other two top executives .
sorry to say the only rhms set apart distinctly both in role , prominence and strength are rayleigh and killer.
both officially are referred to as just vice captains. the other two you have mentioned in this thread do not have that distinction

Ben beckman has repeatedly Been called vice captain and was mentioned in the same sentence with shanks in the most recent chapter by the elbaf bar locals cheering them on

def not this chapter if you are talking about the viz. perhaps a prev one?


being mentioned in the same sentence isnt noteworthy . hes also been mentioned in the same sentence as roux and yasopp...



That being said , He is the rhm in the same way marco or king are , the top executive out of a number of executives in shanks crew. Notice no distinction was made between his role in the crew and that of say roux or yasopp. The same way we have three calamities in kaido's crew or division commanders in whitebeard's crew.

killer and rayleigh have that unique distinction set apart from the rest of the crew.
saved a copy of magazine pictures to explain it better . more formally rayleigh and killer are referred to as partners which is essentially why they are never grouped with anyone else in the crew.







Notice zoro's relationship to luffy's here also isnt marked as the same.
because he isnt a vice captain.

Correct. Zoro is not the vice captain but rather Luffy's caretaker and master.
