Death Note is easy to get into. It's relatively short, easily bingeable, great starter anime/manga. It also clears 99.99% of manga, and its characters clear 99.99% of characters, namely Light and L.


Light should have won the MC tournament tho..

I thought anime had more to offer thanks to those 2 series, boy was I wrong and were we fooled. After watching those 2 you might as well stop watching anime in general.

Death Note is also a rare example of a popular anime you can show to a regular friend without being immediately thought less of.

My friend who only ever watched stuff like idk Naruto, Pokemon, Digimon, Yugioh, DBZ, and only as a kid when it was on TV, got into Death Note like this year, and also had his girl watch with him, and she never even watched an episode of any anime, and they both loved it.

I'd say I've seen a few peeps who never watched anime get interested in Kakegurui and stuff like that from the Netflix show Bet.
