I personally have doubts if Oda would let one of his fav character Garp getting L, if he doesn't get L....BB would get right??

There isn't any scenario possibility of BB getting beaten at this stage, unless we underestimate Loda again.....
So if they confronted and one has to get an L,it's Garp

If we look at it objectively and assume Oda is a writer with a functioning brain, this confrontation should lead to Garp dying or getting captured.
We have an 78 year old retired legend of the Navy dive head first into the den of the perceived final pirate villain to rescue the next generation and new "Hero" of the Navy. Common sense would tell you Garp stays back as a sacrifice to let the new gen escape with BB having what he needs to achieve his plan.
Thing is, i believe this BB trying to negotiate plot will go nowhere, it's far too random and it's probably just an excuse to get Garp into the island.
What's also important is that Kuzan is a wildcard and has history with Garp.
In the end i believe per always nothing will come out of this battle with Garp and Koby walking out of this fight while the image of the BBP's is dumbed on.

In a normal shonen Garp would take a fat L to hype the antagonists but we know Blackbeard and his crew are different, Oda is fine drawing them taking Ls
And while this is nowhere comparable to Shanks, this is also the first time Garp gets to seriously fight on-screen. In Marineford he was held by his feelings for Ace and his only real action was punching Marco once lol. Considering the fact he’s a good guy, rival of the PK, respected by Roger and WB very unlikely Oda make him looks bad.
That said he s old and the mentor losing while passing the torch to the young generation is common shonen trope. And it would really be awful if one can invade and destroy Blackbeard HQ without consequences
So Garp may get defeated, but not in a hype tool way. First I’m sure BBP will gang up on him and not go for a fair 1 vs 1. They are dirty fighters.
Second I wonder if the slaves we see in the chapter will be used as hostages. Pizarro should be able to trap them with his ability.

If Blackbeard Pirates flop even in this fucking situation they are beyond repair at least in my eyes and no matter if the next day Blackbeard eats Im or not.
They fumbled too many times to take them seriously and right now? I mean it's either BB or Kuzan coming back or Blackbeard Pirates get rekt and Garp succeeds.
I also agree that Oda dropped the reason why Blackbeard kidnapped Coby for a reason. What better way to make deals with the WG if not by offering them an even bigger "Hero" than Coby.
