General & Others Biggest pirate to come from the mid gen?

No one ever respect Shanks strength alone. They respect Shanks crew as whole.
And this is nothing compared to Kaido, Whitebeard and Mihawk alone. Shanks doesn't even come closer when Sengoku says to be careful with Whitebeard because he has the power to destroy the world. Or when Greenbull says that he would never invade Wano if Kaido was a Yonko.
About Shanks "respect" let's not forget that even after Shanks come and said he was there to end the war, both Kizaru and Aokiji still attacked Law's submarine. Kizaru even had a gun pointed to him.

I feel it's fair to say that these characters are all part of the mid gen
new gen and Blackbeard is new rocks of new gen. Shanks supposed to fight kaido but he skipped a generation lol. Kaido-mihawk-shanks is mid gen version of whitebeard-roger-rocks. Luffy-law-blacbeard is new gen version of whitebeard-roger-rocks. Luffy surpassed the
past gen by beating mid gen rocks in kaido. Blackbeard will also do the same. Surpassing past gen by beating mid gen Roger in shanks. Then new gen rocks and Roger with BB vs Luffy will fight. It seems shanks slacking here. He can't do shit in his era so he bet on new gen to get the job done.
Honestly it’s Mihawk, borderline undisputed tbh. When Shanks got mentioned by his hat, no one reacted iirc. When Mihawk showed up/was mention. Even East Blue nobody’s knew who he was….it’s one thing when tha Top Dogs know who you are…real fame/being big time is when EVERYONE knows you. From tha top dogs down to tha absolute nobodies

If we talk about fame it should be BB. He used the WB pirates and the WG as chess pieces to have the most gains during the Ace incident. Then now he is also taking action everywhere in thr new world. Shanks on the other hand had the achievement to stop Marineford war but has not great ambitions bar prevent wars/bloodsheds. So he is probably less famous than BB in the OP world.

I am a bit puzzled about this.
I am sure Mihawk wants to be the strongest, but at teh same time I feel that he is also looking for someone to take his title away from him.
It's not like he's given any space as a character, he is more a plot device per se, but I find more interesting for him to have the goal to find a proper challenger as a swordsman.
