Blackbeard Pirates Vs. Straw Hats Lineup

The Lineup
1. Blackbeard = Luffy
2. Shiryu = Zoro
3. Lafitte = Sanji
4. Vasco Shot = Jinbei
5. Doc Q/Stronger = Chopper
6. Van Auger = Usopp
7. Burgess = Franky
8. Pizarro = Brook
9. Caterina = Nami
10. Sanjuan Wolf = Robin


The Reasoning
1. Blackbeard and Luffy are the captains in their respective crews.
2. Shiryu and Zoro are the primary swordsmen in their respective crews.
3. Sanji looks like a Devil and Lafitte looks like an Angel. Both are the respective speedsters in their crews.
4. Vasco Shot uses Fire to fight and Jinbei uses Water to fight.
5. Doc Q creates diseases while Chopper creatures cures for diseases. Both are their crews respective doctors.
6. Van Auger and Usopp are the Sharpshooters of their respective crews.
7. Burgess and Franky have always kind of been the Strong Man of their groups. For example, one of Franky's most common moves is Strong Right and variations of it. It's also appropriate because Franky can at least try to take some damage and use lasers to break rocks or something.
8. This is a funny one. I'm thinking Brook needs to go on a mission of his own to find something and it turns out Pizarro is stopping him. Brook tends to go off on weird missions like that often. It's also possible that Brook is the only person who can bypass most of the danger involved with fighting Pizarro by going into his spirit form to locate his real body.
9. It's a woman Vs. woman fight. That means nobody has to hold back and Nami has been in such situations before where she has to fight a strong female opponent. It's believable.
10. *Edited* I'm going to leave Aokiji off the table and not even consider him a true member of the crew. In that case, Sanjuan Wolf is going to fight Robin. He can bloat and she can make giant stuff.

Lots of threads about this topic but BBP aren’t fighting just the SHP. Luffy will have allies involved just like with every fight now a days:

Commodore Teach vs Luffy
1st Ship Jesus Burgess vs Sabo
2nd Ship Shiryu vs Zoro
3rd Ship Van Augur vs Usopp
4th Ship Avalo Pizarro vs Coby
5th Ship Lafitte vs Sanji
6th Ship Catarina Devon vs Robin
7th Ship Sanjuan Wolf Vs Franky
8th Ship Vasco Shot vs Jinbe
9th Ship Doc Q and Stronger vs Brook and Chopper
10th Ship Kuzan vs Smoker

Really just leaves Nami who Blackbeard may have a hidden ally somewhere or will gain a new ally when Lafitte finishes his preparations and Caribou who since he’s a weak logia user needs someone with haki but genuinely feels too weak to fight any of the SHs haki users so may fight some minor ally of the straw hats.

Shiryu and pizarro are King and Queen of the crew so we already know who are they fighting
Swordsman and ex north blue royalty
Who already fought invisible fruit and who already fought someone who fused with an island
Laffite is the RHM
Burguess is the LHM
Those two are Teach first two members but loda's joke here is that they are going to fight luffy last two members Jinbe and Brook also makes sense since it fits their powers
Devon and auger kind have nami and ussop dinamic
Doc q is the death doc aka chopper dream
Loda tease with franky fusing with the sunny against sanjuan wolf
That only leaves robin and vasco Shot out
But imo robin plot is with aokiji that or she and Brook in a 2v1 against laffite
So Vasco Shot goes out by an outsider

The obvious matchups due to their respective roles in the crew:
  • Luffy vs. Blackbeard;
  • Zoro vs. Shiryu;
  • Usopp vs. Van Augur;
  • Nami vs. Laffitte;
  • Chopper vs. Doc Q;
  • Jinbe vs. Burgess.

I think that the above is pretty much out of discussion, although I'm open to opposing opinions...

Uncertain matchups:
  • Robin vs. Devon;
  • Franky vs. Sanjuan Wolf;
  • Brook vs. Pizarro.

Except Robin vs. Devon (female vs. female) where both characters have at least one thing in common, I just have a hunch about these ones. I feel like the Level 6 ID escapees are the strongest of Blackbeard's crew (+ Burgess, who seems to be the only "combatant" of the original 4 Blackbeard crew members and got a fair amount of panel time in Dressrosa), so in my opinion they'll definitely face the strongest Straw Hats.

Sanji vs. Vasco Shot:

I'd like to make a special comment about this one: not only Vasco Shot is one of the escapees from ID, but his vivre card also mentions that his crimes were brutal even when compared to other Level 6 prisoners, so I expect him to be the second strongest of Blackbeard's crew. Although it isn't confirmed yet, I also have a hunch that he's the cook of the BB Pirates. Plus, he seems to be the most disgusting of the BB Pirates regarding women, as seen when they invaded Amazon Lily (he's a pervert in the worst sense, contrary to Sanji, who's a "gentleman" perv... lol).

What about Kuzan?

I don't have a clue about Kuzan yet... I strongly feel that he's an independent player (as seen in the last pages of chapter #1121) and he's just tagging along Blackbeard temporarily. He may end up as an ally (I hope not, lol), but someone (friend or foe) will have to face him someday, so I'd put him against one of the SH's "sidekicks": Law, Kid, Yamato, Koby, et al.

Safest answers imo

Though I'd argue Nami vs Devon is more likely than Robin vs Devon. Nami pretty much always fights the chick.

The most dope thing would be Blackbeard's crew trying to show-up like they do to everyone else (ganging on the captain) only for the Strawhats to do the exact same thing, creating a true crew vs crew battle without any definitive one v ones.... now that is the dream lads. We can have the weaker strawhats pulling their own gambits; Chopper nullifying Doc Q, Usopp shooting Augur's bullet's out of the air.

Come on, let's not think small... let's have a true CREW V CREW fight.

Pizarro doesn’t align with Sanjis opponents at all. All of Sanjis opponents since entering the grand line are tricksters who gain advantage through tricks and deceit. Pizarros big island just doesn’t align with that at all.

Meanwhile, Lafittes hypnosis ability actually does. Combine this with Lafitte being uniquely hyped among the original crew and the only one Oda didn’t get negged by Ace, it’s clear that Oda respects the guy. Plus narratively Lafittes famous for his mistreatment and abuse of prisoners which also works with a Sanji fight because Pudding is now a prisoner of the BBP and we all know she will somehow be involved in Sanjis match up and this is just the easiest way.

Besides Pizarro vs Coby is already started because of those two clashing in Hachinosu.
