Blackbeard wants to be the strongest which is why he’s picking out the strongest fruits he can

Xebec and his crew definitely being an inspiration. Just a theory but yeah he probably wanted the darkness fruit because xebec himself had it. With him coincidentally taking the fruit of his strongest subordinate

Imo when it comes to the whole worlds strongest man and creature titles both of them are based on the fact they’re devil fruit users more than anything

1. Whitebeard who was the strongest man had what many consider the strongest Paramecia fruit. Paramecia fruit in general turn the user into a super powered man
   PARAMECIA LITERAL MEANING: Superhuman System
2. Kaido who was said to be the strongest creature had one of the strongest zoan fruits. Zoan fruits being able to turn the user into different types of animals or creatures
   ZOAN LITERALLY MEANING: Animal System

I think it’s gonna be the same with logia users with xebec specifically having a similar title being considered the strongest force of nature or something along those lines?

If he has the fruits of the strongest logia and paramecia users it’d make sense he’d try to do the same with his final zoan fruit. Especially considering they were all on the same crew being the captain main commander and apprentice

While I do think Kaido like Linlin will return stronger than ever with awakening + think it’d be cool if he returned to fight Blackbeard who’s going after pluton there’s a chance even if that happens that bb fails to take his fruit.

Why? Idk in story it can be handled a bunch of different ways. Out of story oda might not want to repeat fruits for luffy. I personally wouldn’t mind due to Blackbeard still likely using the fruit a lot differently. Probably focusing on the talons rather than using a weapon

Maybe he could take a fruit of someone else who can be considered to be the worlds strongest creature. Tho if Kaido returns awakened he should definitely fully get the recognition imo
Also don’t think warcury is stronger tbh and imu themselves is likely more than just a mythical zoan. So him taking kaido’s fruit would make a lot of sense

luffy won't have a long fight against an azure dragon again, design wise alone it makes no sense, would look wrong with the darkness around. the bbp will take kaido's fruit but raiu will eat it, not bb. teach will eat orochi's.

He's the only character so far who has Observation Haki that can scan people's power levels like DBZ Scouters and analyzes Luffy's haki level compared between Jaya and Impel Down. Don Chinjao says that "of all the countless conquerors in the new world, the one who can stand atop them all is Blackbeard Teach"

Strong haki =/= advanced tho
His haki is definitely strong but I doubt he’s the type of guy to bust his ass training to advance it

One haki burst later and you have 0 Devil Fruits.

Blackbeard will have to compete with Shiryu about the title of ultimate DF merchant but just like Kaido lost to King in toughness, Blackbeard will lose to Shiryu the same way.

Once ultimate DF merchants have gotten their 5 minutes of spotlight we will proceed to actual peak of power, the ultimate hakimen capable of forging the strongest weapon in the world.
