It was actually perfect too. Given the nature of the strange "Mihawk's blade was painted black" troll, which I think is both hilarious and ridiculous - the amount of Mihawk fans that actually get triggered by something so silly, and the name of thread - with that context it was basically irresistible to post images like this.
However if they had rust-proof paint in the days swords were commonly used I imagine it might actually have been somewhat practical to paint a sword. Just saying.
