Okay lets see why is Mihawk mid diffing Kaido
-He has superior CoA portrayal than Oden as he has permanent black blade
-He has superior swordsmanship portrayal than Oden as the world recognized him as strongest swordsman in the world
-He ha superior story portrayal than Oden as the second most important character in the series is aiming for him while Oden is Zoro's Wano bench mark.
Yet Oden was able to bring Kaido to death's doors, so Mihawk who has far superior portrayal, would kill Kaido in one shot. And it wouldn't take him long before he lands that hit due to superior observation Haki.
Since Mihawk mid diffs Kaido, he low diffs people tier below him like King and Katakuri

That's one way of looking at it

Now lets look at why he neg diffs Smoothie,
Casual one handed tester attack from Mihawk, where Mihawk needs no prep, no wear and tear on his body, not even impact lines on him showing he has exerted massive force
A full power Smoothie slash, where she has to kill and Juice her own subordinates (meaning prep time) and in the end is huffing and puffing, showing it requires her insane amount of effort

Since Mihawk can neg diff Smoothie, he can neg diff people of similar power level like Jack and maybe low diff someone like Vista.

Vista gets negged by Kaido. However he was potrayed above Mihawk, so he is the strongest swordsman currently.
