Powers & Abilities Cases of "Forgot about his powers"

More then forgetting, hoping certain powers are not just one time deals like Tankman, Snakeman, Laws personality swapping, etc. Also Oda is ignoring or forgetting that Luffy used to be more creative with his attacks, and typically has him spamming the same old gear 2 and 3 stuff instead. I would like to see Luffy using whip, stamp, bell, ufo, spear and even fireworks more often. Luffy is stronger then ever, his base attacks should be strong, too.
• Linlin falling into the ocean and nearly drowning to death despite the fact she can literally fly.
• Law never using his Freaky Friday ripoff power despite it having no canonical weakness, drawback or limitation.
• Smoothie trying to hit the Sunny with a vertical slash despite the fact that a horizontal slash would be unavoidable.
• Zoro supposedly getting surprised by Gyukimaru launching an attack despite the fact that he already knew he was there, had already had to fend off a supposed surprise attack just seconds earlier and especially the fact that Zoro literally has CoO for this exact reason.
There are probably way more than I can remember. Lol.
