Right when i was complaining about a twist, we get something decent. Fami was the death devil all along:

I can't really say much about the Makima twist because it's been such a long time and during that time I was binge reading the chapters, so I don't really remember if I was surprised or not with that twist.
But when it comes to the Fami and Death Devil twist, that twist to me was surprising, and I do believe it was a good twist.
Just to make sure I wasn't the only one shocked by it, I went everywhere to see everyone's reaction, and almost everyone was surprised by the twist and even saying it was really good.
Maybe only a very few weren't surprised because they already had a feeling that "Fami" was Death, and yeah when looking back, the hints were there.
I'm just happy that the character we thought was the Death Devil wasn't the real Death Devil, especially seeing how she was getting beaten so easily last chapter.

Btw, is that Chainsawman actually Denji or the fake Chainsawman. The design looks weird. I don't think it's Denji.
Isn't she a Horseman too? She is joining her sisters side to save her hide most likely.
Some people theorized Fami was the death devil based on her hair colour and stuff. There were theories about it.

Same, I binged the first part and am reading this one on weekly basis, and tbh I liked this twist more.
I didn't read other fans theories or anything, so it was enjoyable to me, plus it gets an extra dimension on Denji having to kill Death to get laid when Death herself doesn't really want to ruin all life because she enjoys a good hamburger. Or pizza. With several desserts and a couple of those whipped cream cappuccinos.

On topic, I do agree that Part 2 has been inferior to Part 1 by far.
Denji and Asa school arc was slow paced and uninteresting, the Nayuta incident was good though. Then that gooner moment between Denji and Yoru in the alley was Absolute Cinema. You know it's peak and hilarious when Twitter monkeys are mad.
Speaking of Twitter monkeys being bad, the newest chapter was great. Some people probably foresaw that twist coming (not me though) so it was interesting nonetheless. Lots of foreshadowing for Fami being the actual Death Devil before. That last Fami's panty panel was what got Twitter monkeys triggered.
But yea, overall, CSM Part 1 > Part 2. Reze mostly carries Part 1. International Assassin Arc is probably one, if not the best arc in CSM. It's hard to topple that.
Bonus: Falling Devil showing off her cakes once again, I can see why she's a chef cuz she can COOK!
