Tbh I would love to see interactions between Dragon and Colby. Naturally would be Garp's first hope for the future meeting his last, and also the kid who Luffy saved meeting the man that saved Luffy. They also both piss Akainu off just intrinsically. But Oda seems to be more willing to minimize Dragon's personality to force the stoic and mysterious shit as of late, so idk lol maybe it wouldn't even be that interesting at this point. It's crazy to think that he had more depth/variety to his personality in his two minor appearances between the end of enies lobby and the beginning of marineford than he does now
Outside of that, maybe Shanks and Zoro, or Law and Kuzan. Might produce some interesting dialogue even though they've never met before
Why is this weird? It's not like a momentary thing, or a case of 'Oda forgot' with some sort of setup to it. Garp wasn't even in Kaido's 'top 5' and in reality they probably never fought- God Valley was a huge battlefield with multiple factions, anybody could have fought anybody fr. Also, Kaido wanted smoke with Roger as soon as he got there, and considering he's seemingly the least experienced member of Rocks crew he probably wouldn't be Garp's priority either. It would just make more sense if, at God Valley, Garp clashed with BM and that's part of what makes her think of Garp when she hears 'Monkey D. Luffy', and Roger clashed with Kaido there which helped solidify Kaido's reverence for him.
But even putting my speculation aside I don't see a real argument for Kaido having some sort of history with Garp from what we got in the story. And I'm someone that wanted a lot more from Kaido's character too, I'm not saying that Oda didn't drop the ball with his backstory and history as a character outside of this lol.
