I've been seeing a lot of posts comparing Big Mom to Mihawk today. The thought process seems to be that since Mihawk asked Vista to postpone their match, and Big Mom asked Marco to postpose their match, that both scenes are comparable and equal. But is that really the case? Let's take a closer look and found out together.

Big Mom vs Marco

Big Mom does not have her strongest homie with her, Napoleon. She only has Prom and Zeus at the start of the fight. It seems that Big Mom lost Napoleon when she got flipped over and rolled out by Jinbei/Robin in a previous chapter. How unfortunate. This means that Big Mom is at a major disadvantage in her fight with Marco, this would be like if Mihawk was fighting Vista without Yoru, something that none of the people comparing Big Mom to Mihawk have brought up at all. Now that I got that out of the way, let's look at Marco vs a nerfed Big Mom objectively.

- Marco offpanels Zeus. How did Marco do this? Who knows. Who cares. It happened. It is what it is.

- Marco defeats Prom due to his flames being unique.

- Big Mom grabs Marco by the neck. Marco is not fast enough to dodge or react to this at all.

- Big Mom commands Perospero to finish Marco off.

Now let's stop here. The argument against Big Mom seems to be that she needed Perospero in order to defeat Marco. And I actually agree with this argument. What I disagree with is the conclusion that most posters have reached, and said conclusion is that Big Mom and Marco are close in strength. That is not the correct conclusion to make. The correct conclusion is that Big Mom without her powerful Napoleon homie doesn't have anything powerful enough to put down an opponent with really strong regeneration powers like Marco, hence why she asked Perospero with his lethal arrows to assist her. Big Mom's quote also supports this: "Marco if you want to kill me....do it some other time!!! I don't have any souls to use against you right now!!!"

That above quote clearly means Big Mom wants to find Napoleon before fighting Marco, and there's nothing wrong with that. Marco was able to completely regenerate his body after it got destroyed by lasers multiple times. Therefore fighting Marco with blunt force melee attacks seems unpractical and frankly a major waste of time. So Big Mom chooses to postpone their fight because she doesn't have her strongest and most useful homie with her at the moment, in other words Big Mom is nerfed and not at full power.

Now let's analyze how an actual how an actual Battledome match between Big Mom and Marco would go. Which means Big Mom will have access to Napoleon, Zeus, and Prom. There will be no Perospero, Carrot, or Wanda in this fight. How does it go? Well here is an objective and fair analysis of how it would go.

- Marco would instantly defeat Zeus.

- Marco would clash with Big Mom and instantly defeat Prom.

- Big Mom would grab Marco's neck with one hand and attack Marco with Napoleon using her other hand.

- Marco would be injured but would regenerate and the fight would continue.

I think that's a very fair assumption of how a full powered Big Mom vs Marco would go. Now does that mean Big Mom and Marco are close in strength? Not really. While Marco has shown to be very effective against Zeus and Prom, he hasn't shown to be effective at all against Big Mom herself. No evidence of Marco being able to hurt Big Mom. No evidence of Marco being able to do anything that would bother Big Mom herself. Meanwhile Big Mom showed that she can grab Marco by the neck instantly and that there is nothing that Marco can do to prevent this from happening. And she held onto Marco's neck for multiple panels, meaning that there is nothing Marco can do to prevent Big Mom from swinging Napoleon at him while simultaneously holding Marco by the neck.

So yeah, Big Mom is far superior to Marco. And the fight would have gone very differently if Big Mom had access to Napoleon. Now let's analyze Mihawk vs Vista.

Mihawk vs Vista

- Mihawk is pursuing Luffy.

- Marco orders Vista to save Luffy.

- Vista jumps in between Mihawk and Luffy.

- Mihawk ponders about Luffy and looks away while clashing with Vista.

- Mihawk and Vista are then seen crossing blades.

- Mihawk asks Vista to postpone the fight and Vista agrees.

What makes Mihawk vs Vista very different from Big Mom vs Marco is that Mihawk has his main weapon when dueling Vista. Mihawk is wielding Yoru. Mihawk has all the tools at his disposal to crush Vista like a bug, but does not crush Vista and instead chooses to postpone their duel. Meanwhile Big Mom doesn't have access to the one homie that would be very effective against Marco and chooses to postpone their fight until she gets access to said homie again. Mihawk was not nerfed. Big Mom was nerfed. Very different situations. Apples and oranges. Those two scenes have nothing in common and cannot be compared at all.

Now does this mean that I think Mihawk is comparable to Vista in strength? No. Mihawk can obviously destroy Vista easily. It's only due to Mihawk being more interested in Luffy than Vista, and Mihawk not enjoying going all out against weaker swordsmen that Vista is still alive and breathing. The point of this thread isn't to dehype Mihawk at all. It's to simply show that Big Mom vs Marco and Mihawk vs Vista are not comparable situations and that Big Mom is a lot stronger than Marco when she has access to all her homies. However at the same time, this is also not a Marco dehpying thread as well. Marco performed way better against Big Mom than Queen did, and Marco is clearly the strongest Yonko Commander (could change once we see what Beckman does, he has a lot of hype). It is not my intention to de hype Mihawk or Marco with this thread at all, merely to defend Big Mom.

Thank you for reading.

It's clear that BM was far from using her full power against Marco anyway and that she did move because she didn't want to waste too much time with him miss all of the action with the Scabbards and the Minks or to go for her main target that is Luffy.

Yup, as @Light D Lamperouge pointed out, she actually had all her 3 main weapons on her

The way she spoke implied that she wanted to weaponize something else with her soul before facing Marco

With that said, I don't really think this deserves a thread, especially when it was already debunked, so closing
