General & Others Compiling a list of Wano Criticisms

Makes sense he freaks out or is surprised tbh.

The number of ***** that bypassed his scales numbered only 4 or 5.

Now all of a sudden all 9 of Oden's underlings and upstart pirates he's whooped the ass of/looked down on are hurting him.

Not really if you hadn't experienced pain all that often in almost 40 years. Remember, God's Valley happened 39 years ago, and that's when Kaido got his devil fruit. It's been much longer than 20 years since Kaido has consistently felt pain.

He probably did have the potential to become a Monster on his own, but was given a free pass to help him become drastically stronger via his Devil Fruit. In my thread I liken the Big Mom/Kaido/Rocks situation to the Alvida/Coby situation in the beginning of the series. Coby is going on to become strong on his own accord, despite being an utter weakling in the beginning of the series. Kaido could have done the same, but was given a helping hand via his Devil Fruit.

Oda gives more importance to narative....kaido used his jobber form...and lost...had he fought in his base from start he would have higher chance of winning...had he used hybrid from start more so....oden easily tanked boro breath yet got K.Oed by no name attack done by wounded base kaido.....

Why didn't kaido from start engaged oden in his strongest form? Pis. Why he keep using dragon from? Pis....

Why haven't f6/calamities still used their hybrid form? Pis. Why didn't jack/queen used theirs against dukes/BM? Pis

Its like luffy getting defeated by dolfamingo in his base and had PTSD of him despite having g4 by using which he can win....
On one hand he did not want to reveal kaido's true power on the other hand he wanted the narative such that kaido fears oden

Why doesn't kaido knows about adv coa despite being in rocks crew? Despite witnessing the enitre god valley fight where adv haki had to be used by roger/rocks/garp? Pis

Yeah I know....kaido had to fight other top tiers at least once , he challenged the marines so many times he had to encounter admirals at least once....Pis. You won't find an answer

- Queen does not put Kids in fighting arena with teacher to train
- I mean what Strawhats did for Robin in EL
- The plot is too focus on Enma. Two yonkos and scabbards are afraid of sword. No one did this to Wado and Sushui even they have the same grade. Zoro is much better is right but I don't know how you use this against my statement.
- Tama direct counter still lame and plot convenient. Whether she got exploited or not is irrelevant. I prefer the war to has more tension and strawhats & alliance struggle through disadvantage (like what CP0 described). Tama just broke that tension out of the blue.
- amnesia situation is in Wano even it happened 6 volume ago. What is your point?

- Luffy's power is to attract others. Kidd was in jail longer but had no bond with Hyo because he isn't that type. Hence no teacher. Kidd had already escaped by the time of the sumo tournament... which also depended on Hyo because it was a point of playing on Luffy's desire to protect him. Kidd could only be hurt that way through Killer, but for their deeds they were both used as even more against Luffy.

- Oda didn't use his full strength this whole time, so to say that Enma is too strong is forgetting that this was done deliberately. Oda didn't have to explain Zoro keeping up aside from giving him a weapon that bears relevance to other characters and also gives us something new. God forbid.

- amnesia completely doesn't matter. The point was to capture Big Mom, provide means to help Luffy escape Queen, and also draw out the tension of the Haki upgrade in combat without having him beat anyone important in the process.

- The Yonko Crews, and the Yonko themselves, have been a complete disgrace, and look even worse when compared to previous antagonists.
- Big Meme and her crew shouldn’t have come to Wano period.
- The Supernovas may have had some moments but overall have been wasted.
- The time travel twist wasn’t necessary imo.
- Too many characters and plotlines, the latter of which just aren’t as good as some of the stories we’ve had in the past.
- Female characters continue to be disappointing. On that note, I love how Oda had Snot stay behind so we could have a beautiful princess to rescue in the present.
- Wano and its people are one of the worst countries we’ve encountered yet.
- SHs continue to not exist.
- PIS/plot armor galore.
- Tension is as dead as the New World hype.
- Udon...just Udon.
- We cut away from Reverie far too early so we could waste time on Luffy stomping sumo and SMILE fodders.
- The growing chosen one bullshit with Luffy.
- The lack of actually good fights (for now).

There are probably more, but that should cover the biggest issues.

Kaido's concept as a character is smaller than his actual position in the verse is meant to convey, in my opinion. He's the oni, the big ogre that terrorizes Japan, and in that sense he's directly (if not completely) tied to Wano's characters and context; so he needs Oden's figure and impact on him to better work as "the oni king" of this particular Japan. But, as I said, this concept doesn't work in the big picture because he isn't just the evil ogre that antagonizes a limited group of people but an emperor of the sea with a warlike and political influence in the whole world. To make a comparison, the way Oda seems to be working on Kaido is only suitable in an arc like Skypiea, with Enel being the "ogre" that lives in the island of the ogre (Upper Yard) and terrorizes the Japanese. That's why it feels odd that he's so obsessed with Oden, because Oda forced the plot so Kaido is more of the oni king and less of an emperor of the sea since we're in "Japan".

Youre right. His oden obsession and putting him on the highest pedestal is fine for wano in isolation. But when you take that to the bigger world with the likes of roger/rox/wb/shanks etc it doesnt make sense.

OP has always been in Top 5 anyways. I agree with you that he has just milked it, i find it funny because OP is so popular anyways

NW: Could have easily made Punk Hazard and Dressrosa a lot less chapters, but dragged it out because of all the details while writing the arc.

Same with WCI, that should have been 40 episodes, that was a waste as well.

Issue is the dude wants to put as much detail as possible as the story goes along so he keeps adding pieces to it.

Kanjuro and orochi destroyed before the war even began
King and Queen downplay (i don't even mention Jack's lost cause )
