Powers & Abilities Confirmed: Black Blades Are Not Made With Conqueror’s Haki

Since Ryokugyu has a black blade, are they made with Conqueror’s?

King's Haki is simply Haki that's stronger than Armament, or a buff to Armament. There's probably a limit to what Armament Haki can do, King's Haki allows one to have stronger Haki than they'd otherwise have with just Armament.

As for Black blades, Haki is almost definitely involved. Mihawk told Zoro he needs to ensure his Blades don't get nicked, it's a shame as a Swordsman to have a nicked blade, so Haki plays a role.
Armament Haki makes your blade stronger meaning it's less likely to get nicked, so King's Haki would definitely make the blade far stronger than with just Armament.

Finally, One Piece is full of Magic. Swords can recognise their user. So, it's not farfetched to think that a Sword can acknowledge someone as being the strongest Swordsman, therefore, in my opinion, it's about proving to the Sword through clashes with other swords, that you're the strongest, at which point, the Blade decides to become black.

There is also something that doesn't get pointed out:
  1. King said he's not a Swordsman because he doesn't have a Swords Martial art, he doesn't have a discipline, he just fights to win anyway possible even if it requires biting the opponent.
This is important because Zoro is a Swordsman, he has a discipline, a Sword based martial art he follows.... even without a Sword, he has a Swordless sword style. Just using a Sword doesn't make you a Swordsman, it just means you're capable of using a Sword at the very least.
Vista is even regarded as the strongest Swordsman within the WBP despite Whitebeard also being someone who used a blade, so possessing this one-mindedness of using a blade/blade martial arts is important in being recognised as a Swordsman.

This means if a Sword doesn't recognise you as a true Swordsman, then you're unlikely to be able to attain a Blackblade no matter how strong your Haki is... which would explain why the 2 strongest characters - Roger and Whitebeard never acquired one.
Pretty sure Shanks is also said not to be a true Swordsman as well, he likely fights with other weapons whereas a true swordsman will only fight based of off Swordsmartial arts like Zoro does.

Now that it’s confirmed Ryokugyu has a black blade, some previously hidden details about black blade creation start to become clear.

Roger, Prime WB, Shanks, Rayleigh, etc - all of them were top tier CoC users but they have supreme grade blades not black blades.

What’s more Issho is the admiral everyone thinks will have CoC but he also doesn’t have a black blade, instead he has a supreme grade blade.

Ryuma, Mihawk, and Aramaki - all black blade users, but no confirmed CoC.

Starting to look like black blades are an armament haki feat, and might even be to compensate for lack of CoC.

Discuss.

First it's not known if Greenbull is the one who turned his blade Black..

Also i'm thinking it could be a lot more difficult to turn a Blade Black based the Swords Grade.. Is Aramaki's blade a famous one?..
And by that logic Mihawk's feat would be more incredible than Ryuma.. So..
Mihawk > Ryuma

The same can't be said for Luffy's parallel..

Roger > Shanks

I agree that Black Blades are mostly an armament feat but i think you also need at least base CoC just like Zoro needed base CoC
to tame Enma.. Maybe for Swords grade under Skillful Grade you don't need CoC to turn a Blade Black just like you don't need CoC to tame a Blade under Great Grade level..

betting on black blade as a ultimate power was always stupid cause Roger >

Ryokugyu or not

but again, none of Ryokugyu's Hakis should be above Roger or Shanks

so why stop at CoC? why not Haki itself? anyone here thinks GB has a better CoA than Roger or Shanks?!

and also ... we know for a fact black blade is a haki related feat

I have no fucking idea how you guys are so sure what's going on. this is confusing as fuck

Sure. And If you think Roger or Shanks have better haki than anyone period, you are mistaken.

Ryokugyu Is a top tier: if It's specialized in CoA, It could very well have a better CoA than them.
Fuji Will have a better CoO too, being blind.
Zoro will have a better CoA than Luffy probably, and so on.

The only thing I don't think Is that someone will have a better CoC than Roger, because Roger Is likely specialized in that.

If that's the case we should have dozens of black blades because everyone has the ability to obtain CoA haki. Black blades are more rare than anything we've seen in manga.
...which is exactly why I mentioned your CoA needs to be so strong you need to as strong as the strongest CoC users to achieve it. The absolute pinnacle of CoA (and whatever other criteria you need for it since I doubt it's just haki) which only Mihawk and Ryuma have reached
