I see. Here in Italy only supermarkets and pharmacies are open. Then basically any other activity has closed, except for a few industries I guess.

Ya tell your grandparents not to leave the house for next 2 months . Things ill go worse in April sad to say but i am dead serious the way Govt in EU has handled and chinese are handling . I realize how chinese have done it .

10% Case increse and smaller daily death figures than yesterday, I think Italy is begining to see the light at the end of the tunnel (hopefully).

Meanwhile, my country has 188 new cases, big jump from 50 yesterday. I don't even know what to say, first they cheated the election then the way they desl with this is just ... Thailand will hit 1000 within 2 days at this rate.

Yesterday evening Italy's prime minister announced new measures to slow down the spread of the virus. Now every activity which is not a necessity (supermarkets and all the food chain with them, packagings, health drugs etc.) will be closed until the situation is better. Honestly we now are waiting to see the first effects of the lock down take place so finally reaching the spike of deaths and/or contagions or at least slow down in the rise but the numbers are just becoming bigger and bigger, just yesterday we had 760+ deaths, scientists say the spike will arrive in the first half of april ...

The problems like in other places is that people doesn't want to stay in their houses all day but that is almost adjusted entirely by now. Workers are stocked in trains, metros and bus where the minimal safety space doesn't exist so this new measure..

Then our problem geographically speaking is that as of now the virus hit Bergamo and Brescia very very hard (I think you saw the images with the military vehicles) but now, not to mention that it is taking foot even in south Italy where the health care is weaker and governors are already announcing it will be a disaster if it is not stopped, the problem is that it starting to snowball in Milan and that absolutely can not happen.

Anyway had a good laugh yesterday when the news reported that Bojo advised the people that the virus is to be taken seriously, where did it go mr. Herd immunity? Anyway good for UK he at least didn't continue with that madness.

they stole hundreds of millions euros from the health care in south,after all of this is finished i hope people will wake up a little......italian health care should be a lot better than what it is right now (especially in south)

To be honest I don't know if people will change yet as a nation we will have, the whole world will have, to rethink a lot of things from scratch and the attention we put in our healthcare is paramount. But of course as per usual every politician will speculate on it, people will just listen to what politicians say without trying to look at the facts behind the words and it will not change that much.

The real problem is that when all this will end we will have another economic crisis and since we are already weaker than other europeans countries in that side we will have to make new cuts to the national balance so less instruction, health care, welfare.. I don't see a very bright future either way.
