Speculations Could Big Mom and Kaido have Continued Fighting, if they hadn't Landed in Liquid they couldn't Move in?

If Kaido and Big Mom hadn't fallen into Liquid, how long would they have been down for?

Magma is a liquid, so, once Kaido and Big Mom hit Mt. Fuji's bottom, they were unable to move from that point on:

So, I've been wondering: if Big Mom and Kaido were fighting in a country without volcanic regions underneath it, and they just fell deep into dirt/sediment... would they have actually been defeated?

We've seen Big Mom walk out of the earth itself in Whole Cake, after she got smashed down by Zeus/Nami underground.

If Kaido and Big Mom had landed in dirt/sediment, not liquid... how long would they have been out for? A week? Two weeks?

Would it have even been an hour? Neither had life-threatening injuries.

Kaido coughed up a bit of blood, got knocked out, and lost a horn.

Big Mom had internal damage, and we don't know what she looked like after the bombs.

Is that + fall damage enough to knock them out, like Doffy, or Croc, at the end of their arcs? IDK.

I think they could have kept going.

Maybe we never saw Kaido and Linlin's Awakening... not because they couldn't move out of exhaustion... but because they couldn't escape the magma...

The lava was never a significant impact to their defeat, none at all actually.

Their defeat ended in a actual knock out from their opponents.
Kinda?

Look at Rob Lucci in Egghead: lost to Luffy, got back up quickly, got sneak-diffed by Stuffy, got beat up by Seraphim, then fought Zoro for a while after the next day.

Luffy was knocked out multiple times against Kaido, and needed help to win the fight.

The difference, is Luffy had people help him out of the water, while Kaido had no one to rescue him.

If Kaido had gotten pulled out like Luffy did out of Wano's waters, I'm wondering how much he had left in the tank.

Kaido was KOed by then iirc, but Big Mom probably could have kept going
She did seem paralyzed since Law destroyed her bones and what not but we know she can heal herself hence them throwing her out of Onigashima and silencing her so the Homies didn't help her evade her defeat.
So Kaido wasn't able to keep going but Big Mom was. Partially because Kaido went through more as he had to hold up an island while fighting tens of people over the span of like two hours with one of those people being the reincarnation of Joyboy

Fair. You can say the lava stopped them from recovering and make a comeback

Yep.

The fall damage and lava damage would be BRUTAL, for normal people, and, if their Haki was fully off at that point, they should take more damage than usual.

But, Kaido has shown falling from large heights just can't kill him, and he's also pretty much coated himself in magma-hot flames.

Not really sure how much damage the fall damage and magma damage would have done, if they had gotten out, or if they're still down there. Lots of variables. Like, I want to say that Linlin had more left in the tank than Kaido, but Law's internal attacks are BRUTAL, we really don't know how much organ damage she had.

A big aspect of this too, is that they got knocked into magma, so Kaido doesn't get to stay in Mythical Zoan form and get his Mythical Zoan regen, while Linlin can't user her Soul Pocus Healing, either.

Kaido definitely got knocked out, I'm wondering how long it would take him to get up, though.

Great point, if Big Mom had enough Soul Pocus left to heal herself, Kidd and Law would be actually fucked, just because she could physically ruin them at that point. Another aspect is that Kaido's clearly near or at his prime, and Linlin is just not where she could be physically, nor mentally, because of her diet.

Charlotte Linlin on Luffy's diet is a fucking terrifying concept. Can you imagine if all those carbs and sugar was quality fat and protein? Oof.

Sanji is literally the biggest upgrade Big Mom could get, and she fumbled the bag by trying to assassinate him SMH.

I mean she did have white eyes and looked pretty knocked out while falling, I think either way it would have taken some time to get back up, like Luffy waking up in Udon

I don't know I feel like she was purposefully thrown out of the island unlike Kaido. Kaido fell so far because the attack simply made him fall that far. With Kidd and Law it seemed like they knew she couldn't be defeated with raw power so they had to throw her into the water/lava/whatever they believed to be down there

Law knew Wano had a volcanic sub-layer, he knew what he was doing, I think. Kidd's also very mechanically intelligent/scientifically intelligent, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here.

Luffy though was just like "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I'M GONNA MAKE A GIANT FIST AND PUNCH THIS DRAGON"
