Character Discussion Could Luffy Future Impact the World More Than the Pirate King?

#1
Hello there,

I have been rethinking the direction One Piece is heading and wanted to get your thoughts on something interesting. We have always heard about the Pirate King and how it is the pinnacle of pirate dreams; with Gol D. Roger being the ultimate example. Although; Luffy seems to be on a path where his influence might surpass that of a typical Pirate King.

Luffys journey has always been about more than just the treasure; and his growth as a leader has been evident throughout the story. What really stands out to me is his impact on the people he encounters.

From liberating islands to challenging the established world order; Luffys ability to inspire and unite people seems to be his greatest strength. This feels like it could lead to a world changing shift, especially with the Revolutionary Army and potential alliances he might form in the future.

Do you think Luffy’s future role in the world of One Piece might evolve beyond just becoming the Pirate King? Could his true legacy be about toppling the current system and reshaping the world, potentially creating a new era in the process?

Also, I have gone through this post; https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/forum/threads/luffy-uipath-will-not-be-the-pirate-king-hint-from-oda%E2%80%99s-interview.57370/ which definitely helped me out a lot.

Or will the title of Pirate King remain the peak of his journey, and his influence will always be tied to that title?

Thankyou in advance for your help and assistance.

Undoubtedly, it has been explicitly brought up several times in the story. The four most relevant indicators that I remember are:

1. Roger was too early / someone will surpass him.

2. Luffy's dream is something bigger than being the Pirate King / the PK title is just a mean, not an end.

3. Luffy is a D, "God's natural enemy".

4. Joy Boy, who was the previous Nika, was THE main opposition against the WG in the Void Century's great war.

Luffy will surpass even Joy Boy, who was unable to defeat the WG.

I think it may be really important, that if Nika exists or is Joyboy, and the one piece is their treasure, then according to the "Where your treasure is there your heart will be also" principle, the one piece being something Nika and Joyboy would consider a treasure may point to what it is based on how we know they are

Edit: I think the translation of Joyboy saying "I will save you all the way from the past. Hasn't it always been like that?!" may not be accurate because it may imply he was gone once in the past and saved Emeth, from a point in the past, like it happened on Egghead, so

I think the more accurate and true translation is the often alternative I saw be put there which is "I will save you from the past. Hasn't it always been like that?!" and I think that fits with a god that frees slaves and helps people, save you from the past, past mistakes, past suffering, past pain, and bring the new,

It is a given. Luffy is not only the 2nd pirate king but, more importantly, is the 2nd Joy Boy and he will end the job by defeating Im and the WG so for sure the world will change a lot more under him than under Roger (WG will be destroyed and reformed to make an example, celestial dragon will cease to exist etc. etc.).
