Not really no. These are expectation based critics, moral point of view and expressions on how you think these character should be portraryed as. Nothing to do with the actual writing of the show.
Grant morrison or not, these are not a critic on the quality of the show.
No, you expected your own vision of life to apply to this show, that's all.
And ? There are many in others.
You'll learn that some people consider prison not as the solution but as the problem, including victims. Now, if you don't want me to bring you into the warth of a political discussion, let's agree that you are projecting your moral here, nothing more.
Nop. I care about the show, not the comic for the moment. The only thing I know is that Sinestro killed a guardian and was casted away, that's all that I need.
For the moment, I like this choice.
You are the only one here applying your mannichean logic to this situation. Furthermore Sinestro in this show is not depicted as evil, but as a person parasited by fear of being overshadowed, a simple murderer.
Spoiler: this is not a comic. There are gonna be some big changes. Things that will shock you. This is the point of art.
Guy wouldn't have done nothing if Lois and the rest didn't hammer the point. Guy is selfish, self centered, and completely uninterested in doing good selflessly. Guy is a jerk. A cool and funny jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.
John saw a situation that was unsolvable and made a simple ethical calculus:
> The child needs his mother to stay on the right path
This is the entire fucking point of the entire fucking show: it's the action of forgiving or at least accepting a mother who has done an horrible thing to move on and allow everyone to heal. Including John himself.
This is not supposed to be pleasing for you or for John, it's supposed to be a challenging choice, something that can be uncomfortable but healing. Both for John's family and for the world of the show.
The morality and choices of ethics are not up to you here, it's up to the characters who have been abused and choose the path that will allow for peace to really happen. Things that happen everyday in real life.
1. It's not up to me to judge the words of victims on their abusers. But I doubt that any solid show would do that.
2. The show doesn't show that she only does it out of fear. It's a lot more complicated than that.
3. Maybe one day you will understand that victim of abuse can forgive or at least accept their abusers. Life is not black and white.
This show is realistic in regard to the depiction of the abuse AND the depiction of the way John deal with it.
