watching the film 5 years after reading the manga only reminded me how depressingly miserable Shinobu's fight against Douma was, although the film made Shinobu's moves look a bit more flashy. Looking back, as soon as she entered the room, she sadly had no chance to beat him which piled on with the fact that she had been planning for years to avenge Kanae's death only for her to die within minutes in real time without being able to do any meaningful damage and without being able to see out his death while alive.
During the manga chapters 5 yrs ago, I legit was tearing up reading about her death but watching it yesterday, I just felt exasperated lol.
At least Yamato and Yor (both also voiced by Saori Hayami) are still alive and kicking? 😅
Also Akaza's backstory in the manga didn't move me that much but seeing it animated actually made me tear up a bit, also thanks to Katsura lol
also this is the 1st time i have been to a movie theater in 20 yrs after my local movie theater 10 min away from my home closed down in 2004-2005 (closest one near me now is 55 min). my new work place has a movie theater 10 min away (walking) that I can now go to reliably
