Powers & Abilities Did Luffy use aCOC against Gorosei?

This chapter strongly implies that an immortal having COC makes it much harder to deal with their regen based on Gaban going from confident they could stop Harald's regen based on him dealing with COCless HKs in the past to pointing out Harald's own COC as an issue.
I believe it's fully possible Luffy tried to use COC against the elders but they kept bouncing back as they were all portrayed as "terrific" COC users. (whether it's due to abyss contract is irrelevant)
Story wise it makes much more sense than Luffy "holding back" while constantly complaining about how nothing he attempted against the Gorosei worked.

At Onigashima Oda made advcoc a huge plot point and yet one arc later against regen merchants, he couldn't even spent a single panel on clarifying the whole ordeal about Luffy using it or not, like can't make this shit up :YerAWizard:

Same shit with the Seraphims, Zoro's last major arc opponent was literally the only known Lunarian which was still alive, yet in Egghead the same ability is still an unresolved mystery Oda doesn't want to reveal for some reason..

:Patrickthink:

Now we are forced to believe that Oda simply forgot to draw the visual clues, or that for some reason characters turned braindead were holding back in life threatening situations against immortal monsters.

Like neither Inverse nor outverse there has been presented a reasonable and justifiable explanation for the readers...

This is the very next time Luffy used G5. For a random fodder Snake mind you.

This is when I officially checked out, to me it means he used it but Oda didn't draw haki streaks because it didn't produce a highlight panel or something. I'm not gonna believe Luffy put more haki against a fodder animal than the immortal demons he admitted he couldn't even damage properly.

Only if Big Mom used ACoC against Kidd/Law. There were no trailing CoC lines on Egghead. But thre were in Wano(for Kaidou, Yamato, Luffy and Zoro) and Elbaf.

BM didn't have such lines and Luffy also didn't have such lines. So, if people think that Luffy used ACoC in Egghead, BM also used ACoC in Egghead.

There isn’t really clear imagery of it but I think he for sure used it against Kizaru with the star gun. With the Elders it felt like Luffy was trying to get a feel for what would work on them but I do find it hard to believe he just didn’t try to use it at all. I could chalk it up to Luffy being dumb but he has a pretty high battle iq so :/. This could be remedied if Oda just tells us relying on conqueror’s coating had some kind of massive energy drain or something for the sake of balance because it would explain a lot and having characters weigh between df attacks and haki laced attacks could be interesting.

G5 Luffy has the lowest battle IQ in the serie.
He 100% didn't use CoC against the Gorosei. At no moment Saturn was stuggling to regen, adv CoC attacks are supposed to hurt more and slow down the regen. It never happened in Egghead.

Why is so hard to accept he didn't use it?

He did. Against Kizaru to incapacitate him.

And there is no plot hole against the Gorosei, unlike most Holy Knights, the elders use CoC so characters face the same issue that Shanks, Gaban, Roger & Garp (all conquerors) had against Rocks and Harald.

Oda isn't that bad of a writer.

Oda just drew a fight in order to not show it. He does not give a damn about these kind of things.

We have no logical explanation for it, because there is none. He's dumbing characters down if the narrative demands it or a "plot secret" has to be kept hidden.
He's doing this for years and he will continue to do so.

Luffy wasn't using CoC in Egghead. It would have exposed the regeneration's weakness too early. Only used it for WSG.

Been saying this for years. Oda nerfs Luffy as he pleases. For all the plot armour Luffy gets, he also gets nerfed for no reason.
