Oda has tied Luffys dream of becoming Pirate King to Blackbeard

Oda has tied Luffys secret dream to Imu

Oda has tied Luffys Straw Hat to Shanks

Oda has tied Luffys Scar to Akainu

There are only 4 battles he has left which make any sort of sense

5 for maybe Weevil

If blackbeard kills Im and becomes the new king of the world, then Luffy vs BB is set.
Oda would not set up Imu in a chapter called Luffys Dream for him to have nothing to do with Luffys real dream

This is idiotic.

Why would Imu be involved in Lodestar? That makes no sense at all? Why on earth would Imu leave Mariejoa?

The war against the World Government is after Laugh Tale.
I'm really just thinking about how the story is gonna be structured moving forward
One Piece, from day one, has been the crew heading towards a set destination. It would be really weird if the crew backtracked to Mariejois at the last second, especially cause imo it's more likely that Imu is just going to blow it up with Uranus
There are currently 3 notable factions other than the Strawhats: the Red Hair Pirates, the Blackbeard Pirates, and the World Government. There are also only 3 major islands left: Elbaf, Lodestar, and Laugh Tale. I just think it would be efficient if each of the three big players got their arc on one of those three islands

Again, Oda thinks he can finish the series in 3 years. I'm not saying he will, but the fact that he thinks he can imo suggests that there are only so many major arcs left

The final saga has already begun, Oda’s said twice now that the series ends when Luffy finds One Piece and Whitebeard didn’t actually say that finding OP starts the war.

It’s looking increasingly likely to me that finding One Piece is the grand finale after all the fights and that Luffy’s hidden dream is just some world wide party or some shit after all that as an epilogue.

Look at Usopp, Robin and Nami's initial reactions.

That's shock and disbelief. It's definitely something revolutionary not crazy and whimsical.

You really think Luffy at 8 years old was telling Ace and Sabo about how he wants to destroy the holy land despite not even knowing what a Celestial Dragon is?

Luffy wants everyone to be a pirate - meaning freedom & aventuring, partying, having fun.
Which makes the person that controls everything a perfecrt final opponent
So Luffy wants everyone else to have no freedom and just do what he wants to do.

Doesn’t make him all that different from Imu. What if Smoker or Coby don’t want to be pirates?

He wants to Own the World so everyone can be as free as each other

He doesn’t want to be the King of it

This works in parallel with being Pirate King

he doesn’t want to be the Pirate King to rule, he wants it to be free

he doesn’t want to own the world to rule it, he wants it so everyone can be as free as him

One piece is dead. In the last chapters BB got dehyped while IM.. probably controls an ancient weapon. Still I don't think Oda will be so stupid to discard the character he has built for more than what? 20 years? To be the final villain to exchange him with a discount version of Kaguya. At least he should learn from the mistakes of Kishimoto.

For Luffy being a pirate = being free
being the king of pirates = the freest person in the world
Luffy doesn’t force his values on others.

Sure, he equates piracy to freedom for him.

But he’s also perfectly happy to help a guy like Coby join the Marines- enemies of pirates- because that was what Coby dreamed of doing.

Luffy wanting to be King of the World to make everyone a pirate really doesn’t square with his personality.

Luffy wanting to own the world makes everyone’s reactions make a ton of sense

Usopp the realist knows how seemingly impossible it is

Nami knows it’s something that she knows is very Luffy. So it’s something related to Freedom but also could be considered selfish from an outside point of view

Chopper sees it as something amazing as a child

Jinbei laughs and goes with the flow

Franky says that it is something that could be made easier by becoming the PK

We saw him insist to try to make people he likes become pirate and join him a few times though:kayneshrug:
This would be the childish dream of someone that idealizes pirates and genuinely believe it's the best life one could ask for.
