No, apparently he just decided to go white eyes for no reason, smoke out of his mouth and his machine parts shortcircuited for no reason

:sanmoji: You know, it happens in life when you walk casually and then *BAM*, you go white eye'd and fried for no reason
Am I tripping didn’t luffy make kaido go white eye when he punched him with gear 3 that did nothing what so ever next chapter

… is that a hard sentence to understand?
This scenario can be understood as Zeus expected to just damage S-Shark and it "didn't work" because he wasn't damaged, or as Zeus expected to put S-Shark down and it "didn't work" because he got up.

Apparently it is hard to understand because you are assuming as true one interpretation of Zeus' intention (yours) just because.

Clearly they were expecting to put him down so it isn’t a question of intent when they were apologizing before and after the act but were shocked he ate the attack and was retaliating

He was staggered. The smoke is a mere after effect of all fire and lightning attacks

Explaining white eyes to any of you is pathetic, surely you people have read this manga long enough to know it means nothing, Kaido is the king of white eyes

You want me to show you how many times character had white eyes and got 0 damages ? Just check King after zoro's shishisonson.

Where is the real translation buddy ?
Show me white eyes with zero damage.

When Zeus goes for a one shot and only takes down 15% of the health... does not mean it had no effect. The seraphim took damage.

When zoro strikes king and does 15% damage and king goes white eyes... it had an effect. There's allot of force behind these attacks.

Imagine a bus hitting a suit of armor. The suit of armor might hold up but all that force travels straight through. The backing of the suit is soft organs and blood.

Just like kaido going white eyed from kidds attacks and from huge boulders falling on him.

Look at tekkai. Sanji stomped jabra who used Iron body right before the attack. The iron body didn't break. Jabra still took damage.
Which is why sanji even comments on how jabra felt his attack. Afterwards jabra runs from sanjis kicks.

These attacks can hurt them. It's all about the method of attack and how effective it'll be. Physical blows are simply the least effective. Elemental or internal damage seem to be the most effective. Or sea stones, lasers, and soundwaves.

Lmao.

Chapter of Zoro explaining Lunarians are nearly impossible to damage.
Lunarian gets hit
”It didn’t work!”

Conclusion- Lunarian was damaged.

Genius
Chapter of Zoro explaining Lunarians are nearly impossible to damage.

Conclusion - Lunarians are impossible to damage ("Genius", "Lmao", etc.), and therefore Zeus striking S-Shark with a thunderbolt that gave him white eyes plus smoke coming out of his inners plus losing balance and falling back into the ground couldn't have possibly have damaged him just a little bit.

Or they could be indeed nearly impossible to damage, which is what this chapter explained, and something as powerful as Zeus landing a direct hit with defeat intent did damage him a bit because something nearly impossible isn't impossible but still possible yet unlikely.

Zeus probably just said "it didn't work" because S-Shark wasn't defeated, not because no damage was done.

Read the gymastics of that third paragraph to try and explain as simple a sentence as “it didn’t work!?”

Zoro said King “wasn’t fazed at all” and yet King had white eyes from his attack. We going to ignore Zoro’s words, look at the white eyes and say “actually, Zoro must have been wrong, the white eyes are clearly a sign that King was fazed and so Zoro must have done damage.”

Uh huh

And I’m sure King is really hurt here and what Zoro means is “oh, he’s not fazed at all, but the attack did hurt him.”
What Pinzolo's grandson has to do with Zeus?
Zeus > Enma

"It's didn't work?!" because S-Shark got up lol
But ofcourse, the bruises and the smoke are just dirt. 😂
