Firstly, consider this: if information about Nika was already scarce and only a few knew about this ancient story, why wouldn't the Gorosei, who are all powerful individuals, go after the rarest, legendary, and ultimately powerful fruits, especially considering that Imu-sama knows how the fruits originated and is an immortal being with centuries of age? It's obvious that they would want to possess all the fruits that could pose a risk to them.

This happened with Nika, the fruit that Luffy possesses, as the government literally got their hands on it. What could have happened to it afterwards? Would one of the elders consume it? Would they store it since all the Gorosei already possess powers? We saw during the Wano arc that the elders demonstrated a deep knowledge of Devil Fruits, reaching the conclusion that Nika is the most ridiculous power in the world.

We could say that the Gorosei, due to their "common" anatomy, are only capable of consuming one Devil Fruit, which means that the other broken fruits may be in the possession of someone they trust, such as the sacred knights.

I doubt they have broken DFs. Probably high tier mythical fruits, maybe not even all of them being mythical.
It's hard to imagine something more broken than Kaido's mythical Zoan fruit, which represents strength in Japanese culture. A mythical and legendary creature like a dragon, even in its unawakened state, was surpassing or at least on par with the powers of an awakened sun god's fruit. We saw that Oda sort of nerfed the Ope Ope no Mi, Shiki's fruit oda gave an explanation about her and that it would be difficult to work with her power, because it was too broken, and he was afraid to introduce it into the story and give it too much emphasis. So Oda has control over the powers he wants to introduce or not because some of them can go beyond his control in terms of how to handle them. But it doesn't make sense for these individuals to have existed for centuries without attempting to obtain the most broken powers in any way. We saw that they at least tried with Nika, but Nika may not be the only one.

Even Orochi, a weakling, was blessed with a very powerful fruit. His problem was that he wasn't a decent fighter.

I'm not sure whether the Gorosei are truly immortal or centuries old. The blonde Gorosei looks fairly young and asked about why the Nika fruit was renamed, indicating that he wasn't present at that period of time. But if we assume they are indeed centuries old, as they have most likely eaten a fruit already, they would be excluded from consuming a second one. Note how the Gorosei himself said that Blackbeard is the first guy known capable of using more than one fruit, which means, that neither of the Gorosei, not even Imu are capable of consuming several fruits.

And with the Nika fruit having slipped away from the WG several times and us knowing how many super powerful fruits were floating around which the WG couldn't get its hands on (Lightning, Darkness, Quake, Dragon, Soul, Nika, Flame, Ope), maybe even the admirals having joined the Marines already possessing their DFs, since they had those powers as vice admirals already, where I doubt the WG would feed vice admirals top tier logias, plus us knowing Aramaki had his fruit before joining the marine ranks too as he hasn't eaten for 3 years, I doubt the WG has that much access to the high end fruits.

Or else we would've the Gorosei using fruits like Dragon, Lightning, Magma, Light & co.

Gorosei will have good Mythical Zoans but only Imu will have one that is above every other fruit bar Luffy's, those two fruits will be concept/reality warping based, manipulating elements can't compete at all.
