Chapter Discussion Do you like Blackbeard overreacting to Pizarro?

It makes sense

Black Beard is an extremely wise leader and tactician

He had a plan for capturing Koby and Moriah both it's nothing to do with their strength but their usefulness

But whatever that plan was, was kaput because Pizzaro was slacking on the job

So I'd say his disappointment was warranted

I mean Pizarro controls the whole island, a lot of expectations are on him to ensure those trapped stay trapped and escapes don't happen. Sure, Teach didn't see everything, but it makes sense he keep him in line and complaint his inability to stop the situation from escalating.

I like it for both characters. Teach has to be strict to keep his band of misfits in line, only Pizarro getting scolded reiterated how important his fruit and role is, a whole island capable of great control and damage.

pizarro should be grateful that teach hasn't eaten him yet, some cats in ohio alledgedly had a different experience wtih dark, curly haired men with bad teeth, who came per boat. sanji and luffy also wanted to cook their pet first. pizarro vs chopper is getting more and more obvious.

Where the hell does Blackbeard of all people get off chastising his crew when just a few days earlier he had to be saved from LAW because he underestimated him? He had to be saved against Whitebeard and pretty sure he almost drowned trying to capture Luffy at the knock up stream.

This is like Luffy getting annoyed with his crew, when he's spend the entire manga making idiotic decisions.

Also, how exactly is Koby his 'ace in the hole'? Koby is a member of sword and he really isn't that strong yet. It's not like the WG will be climbing over themselves to get him back as a hostage.

Because the world gov would be hugely embarassed if their up and coming star hero got publicly executed by a pirate.

Especially at the same time as when Cross Guild is making sure all the Marines have a target on their back.

People like Coby and T Bone are meant to be widely beloved, it looks terrible for the Marines for them to be losing people like them to pirates. For Coby in particular it’s made even worse by the fact a former Admiral is part of Blackbeard’s crew.

I suppose that's a good answer but it's still weird given that he's a member of sword which means they don't have to worry about losing face since he's not officially a marine.

Plus they already have someone way better: Garp

Blackbeard didn‘t know that they had captured Garp when he was trying to throttle Pizarro.

It’s just public relations. The World Gov and the Marines, at the time of the plan to swap Coby, have canonically had a shitshow of a few weeks. They failed to stop the RA in Mariejois, the abolition of the Warlords led directly to the rise of Cross Guild instead of being a rousing success, the world is being swept by revolution because of Sabo and their hope for the future was captured by a pirate who an ex Admiral has joined.

Plus they didn’t even contribute to Kaido and Big Mom being overthrown.

Blackbeard’s plan was to pile the pressure on the World Gov over that. The public know nothing about SWORD, all they see is the Marine prodigy captured by a man who has continually ripped the piss out of the World Gov.
