1. Like other prominent SHs have Do you want Zoro to come from a well known family or just from a normal family with no special backstory

Zoro’s was the son of a poor woman in the Shimotsuki village. He has no father. Because he was created by haki directly in the womb of his mother. It was an answer to the haki to Imu-sama trying to manipulate it.

So Zoro is the haki chosen one

In my headcanon Zoro was born from a corpse and taken in by a mercenary, learning to use a sword as a small kid

Zoro being a descendant of Ryuma has always been a strong known theory so it wouldn’t bother me if he’s a member of the Shimotsuki family. But I get why it would bother some.

I also doubt Zoro has any living relatives that would make his rise to the top look inevitablelike Luffy’s, which helps his story.

I don't understand this kind of critics, "his ancestors this, his ancestors that, his father this, his grandfather that", when you see the guy training and progressing through his own efforts and battles, his genetics isn't predominant in his achievements.
This goes for Zoro and every other character. If you don't train hard, you won't accomplish anything, that's how I see it in One Piece until proven otherwise

This is exactly it.

Especially since as of now he has no clue. It has nothing to do with his ethic or personal ability. It really means nothing except we as readers get insight into some other characters.

The point is we need to see something that can add some development and depth to his character
